Roberto Martinez discussion

Anybody who thinks Martinez is the right man for this job please read the story of The Emporers new clothes.

He's full of b*ll*x every time he speaks, there is no substance to him at all

There is no plan B - for example we were losing and he brings on a right back!!

How many times do we get to their box and just pass it out wide?

He's a nob and should be sacked, relegation battle here we come, f*cking over-rated one trick pony.

Don't you hold back none, now!

The team simply doesn't have enough passion, grit or professionalism to grind out the results and hold onto leads (or take the lead in today's case). The players don't get in the oppositions face enough, we're far too polite and we stick too rigidly to playing pretty football. We need to be making our presence known on the opposition (Besic is the one player who is doing this), because otherwise other teams in the league will look at us and think "I can't wait to play Everton".

This isn't just a criticism of Martinez, the players have to take responsibility. However, Martinez has to take the brunt of it because this season, and last season, the same problems have plagued us - defensive fragility (despite having England international centre-halves, one of whom is £40m rated), an obsession with possession over creating chances and figuring out a way to play attractive football without losing the ruthless edge.

I thought Martinez talks rubbish, Terry just said Chelsea can get top 4 hahaha......

He might play good football but we cant defend. They showed Stones weakness just before kickoff and it came true

Mate think you can take a day or two off the forum on the basis of the number of forum rules you are breaking in this post.

Go and have a beer or something.

It's probably why Besic has stood out like a sore thumb for the last few games. We are so used to seeing tepid nonsense in every position that somebody with a bit of conviction has stood out a mile.

The mentality that he has spread especially through the defense isn't good.

Anyone think when Stones was at Barsnley he was doing Cryuff turns in the box, or back passes like that? No he'd have just smashed it up the pitch or out for a throw.

You don't see Pique, Varane, Boateng doing stuff like that, Martinez thinks we have to be perfect every second of the match, but what we do defensively may look nice at times but it isn't the right thing to win the match. We're not Barca or Bayern and he sure is [Poor language removed] ain't Guardiola. Unfortunately he can't see that and he never will.

I'm pleased he was talking of Gibson this week as I'm very worried about that midfield with both McCarthy and Besic unable to put a run of games together. Not even sure he's the answer but the difference Besic has made to the team in the past few games is going to be a big miss.
