Roberto Martinez discussion

For the people saying they would prefer Moyes or that under Moyes we wouldnt be in this position...

I would prefer to have Martinez as he puts out exciting teams with exciting players but most importantly can see he is building something which with a few changes and additions could seriously challenge the top 4.

For me, next season has always been the season where he will have "his" squad and money to spend with alot of outgoings...

Id rather give him that time than settle for 5th or below every year under someone like Moyes.

You honestly think we are magically going to go from finishing below mid table in consective seasons to challenging top 4?,stay off the drugs mate.

For me Martinez is benefiting from a complete lack of leadership at the club.

With all of this takeover talk, the club is in no man's land. No major decision is going to be taken whilst the Americans are going through the books.

The club shy away from big decisions at the best of times, there is nobody strong enough at the club to make the right decision.

I think some of you need to just calm down and maybe take 24 hours before you assess it. Maybe write an angry letter to Points of View about something utterly pointless if you need to let off a bit of steam.
I'm sorry this is not a knee jerk reaction from many supporters. If you are happy with this seasons results then fine. I and many other supporters think 6 wins in the league is totally unacceptable.

We never touched the ball for nearly 2 mins today after Kick Off........ when Mirallas put it out for a throw. Now I have no problem with that as such....... but there was no urgency about them for the first 45 even after we had conceded. When we played Spurs the other week we were the same........ but in the 2nd half we came out all guns blazing.......... we didn't get that today.

I can't shake the feeling Martinez has three and a half months to convince his players they can win here. How long can he keep Lukaku, Stones et al interested in finishing in the bottom half of the table when CL clubs are sniffing around?

how can this be the worse you've ever felt when we have nearly been relegated several times, stop talking nonsense and come up with constructive criticism or soloutions

What's wrong with us?

1. Martinez is tactically inept. Other teams know how to set-up and play against us. Essentially press us high and deny us space and time in the midfield. He doesn't have an answer to this. I've lost count how many games it's cost us this season.

2. Lack of leadership on the pitch. I can remember when we had Southall, Ratcliffe, Reid and Gray, all of them leaders. We have no-one now apart from Jags and he's not that vocal. Mori is a step in the right direction though.

3. No confidence in the goalkeeper. It's plain to see that our defence have absolutely no confidence in Howard. Time to change it Bobby, however this brings me onto my last point.

4. Martinez is too loyal to his players. Kone, Howard are shining examples of this. Oh and he needs to bench Barkley now, the lad is having a shocker lately. He needs a break to relax, finger some birds and get wasted.

Sort it out FFS!!!
