Roberto Martinez discussion

For me his position is salvageable. There are a couple of things that need to happen and we'll be fine.

1. More effort and desire from the players. Too many treading water.

2. Pick the best player for each position. That should be all there is to it.

3. Stop talking for a bit. Batten down the hatches and create a bit of siege mentality. Despite everything a good run of results will still give us a good season. We're capable.

I think the question we all asked was how true is his Mr Nice persona? Hopefully he's got it in him to give some of the players a good bollocking.

In lots of ways he's a credit to our club and he behaves with class and dignity. I'd hate for him to get dogs abuse and leave that way.
So in a nutshell start doing his job

For the people saying they would prefer Moyes or that under Moyes we wouldnt be in this position...

I would prefer to have Martinez as he puts out exciting teams with exciting players but most importantly can see he is building something which with a few changes and additions could seriously challenge the top 4.

For me, next season has always been the season where he will have "his" squad and money to spend with alot of outgoings...

Id rather give him that time than settle for 5th or below every year under someone like Moyes.
Nothing exciting about today mate, same stuff anytime a team pressurized us high up the field , he hasn't got a clue how to change it about.
The crowd a not buying this style either passing it along the back line , someone please tell me what it achieves other than let the other team get in position and have the full team in front of are players, having exciting players stones , ROM and del isn't much good if the football isn't getting you results.

The media have brainwashed fans with this 'challenge the top 4' 'big club' rubbish.

Leicester City are top.
LEICESTER CITY.

Did we aspire to be them this season?

Football is about team ethic, working hard to get a foothold in a game and then allowing your quality to gain victory.

We are just weak. Weak minded, weak work ethic and weak manager (never kicks off at useless officials or has a go at players strolling about and hiding).

We are in a mess and with this squad that is absolutely scandelous.

If we win a Cup then I won't remember 20 years down the line that we finished 10th in the League. I'll just remember the feeling I got at Wembley as I actually watched an Everton captain lift an actual trophy

Sorry mate I'm a relatively new fan. Sky's influenced me quite a bit. I don't know the value of winning trophies like many others do. Hopefully we'll all experience it this year.

Truly it isn't an easy job. He makes the same mistakes some very good managers make at time.

For me the best managers all make mistakes, have blind spots etc. Wenger with keepers for 5-10yrs etc. how quickly they recognise the mistake and rectify it, often putting their ego to one side in the process.

Post of the day.

The blame for all of it is Martinez.

We are an easy and soft push over and teams know it.
