Roberto Martinez discussion

Spurs also have the second best keeper in the league. We have Tim Howard.
I'd say that makes up the majority of the 12 points between them and us.
It's to the considerable detriment of the manager that he's kept picking him.

But it isn't just this season mate, it is the last one too.

He's had 61 games to make the change.

...he's not under pressure mate because he's not expected to achieve anything. Sadly the board are happy for us to simply 'float', the criteria being a simple 'avoid the drop, finish as high as you can = £££££££'. The ambition boat has long since sailed I'm afraid.

Even if that were true about the board I think it would be fair to see the manager is ambitious. It might be going pretty bad for the last 18 months but I am pretty sure he does have ambitions and is trying to build toward something.

I guess we will see over the coming months whether he can make the majority of fans see that, and believe in it again. I hope so.

Fairy Nuff, but the fact of the matter is they could /should have scored 2 more minimum against us the other night. We were of little threat or consequence. At the time I felt differently, watching it again however.....it's all very 'meh'

Oh they did enough I think to win both games really. But they are a very good team playing a team in poor form and lacking confidence. Considering that I think we did pretty good.

To be honest I couldn't even fume too much about the 2nd goal because I reckon they shouldve had a penalty at Goodison.

No way we are getting beat against Carlisle, even a poor performing EFC will win comfortably, expecting a big win

He'll go with a strong team, win comfortably then McCarthy, Coleman and one other player will break down with an injury and suddenly Martinez will be blamed for not resting players. There's no way the guy can win over the next week or so

We need to beat Newcastle Aswell and I imagine the atmosphere to be a little bit naughty if we concede early

Then ban the press from the club, after all his pressers and media interviews are where the quotes come from. Or better yet send Jones to do them and let the Manager do his job
No ban needed,he just needs to keep his comments to current team matters.sad to say he's increasingly appearing to be deluded.Yes the ball should have been a goal kick V City, yes we should be challenging for Europe with this squad, but he needs to stick to addressing the problems we have in winning games and doing it on the training pitch.Unfortunately it's looking beyond him.

I remember when I heard Moyes say his goal each season is to not get relegated and my hear sank.

It will always be the same until a change of ownership happens and the new owners have an ounce of ambition.

Plucky little Everton, punching above their weight, 7th place trophy - it all stems from Kenwright and co. The whole club has such a pathetic mentality, there is no drive or determination to be sucessful or win something.
