And to think I used to wind up the RS fans about the drivel Rodgers used to spout, but Martinez even tops that. To suggest that Gareth Barry (who admittedly has had a great year for us) is one of the best ever English players to have played in the Premier League is frankly insane.Just another pathetic statement about him giving his life, the bloke is nuts.
The more i listen to his mumblings the more i think he is insane.
He needs to shut it and do his job because 1 win in 11 with these players is criminal

I think when you factor in his, (Martinez), er, positivity, and add the word "consistent", he does have a point. Ish.
Or. Maybe not!
Gaz Baz was utter turd for long periods of last season.

If he is indeed 'one of the best English players of the premiership era' why wasn't he a regular starter for England? I happen to think Barry is a good player, but is he really as good as lampard, gerrard, Scholes in their prime? I don't think so.Well, if you are restricting it to English born players then Bobby does indeed have a point.
I thought it was an odd thing to say but I thought he meant one of the greatest.....sans frontier.
Thank you for clearing that up for me.
The thing about Barry is that he us one of those players you never notice much when he is playing for the opposition.
It is only when he is in your team you realise the tremendous amount of good things he does.
We have only come to appreciate his qualities over the past two and a half years.
And he is indeed up there among the best English born players to grace the EPL.
Watching the presser for Carlisle he kind of swayed me a bit, he looked confident in his facial expressions and the way he spoke that we would turn this around and good things will come soon enough. I really want it to work out with him in charge, because he's a genuine nice, down to earth bloke. The way he mentioned he will "give his life" to making Everton successful again I kind of want to give him more time. 'Give me patience and I'll give you success'.
But how much longer can we wait?

lampard, gerrard, Scholes
Like I said I do think Barry was a good player and he still is. But not in the same class as those mentioned. Pains me to say it, they are great English players of the premiership era. There you go.
Doesnt mean he was not a good player. And he is still playing. (Although I have no idea how much younger he is of them 3)
