I think funes mori has the potential to develop into a captain, he appears well liked, is no nonsense defender, multilingual. Might not be mature enough yet but has potential.

Thats if he doesnt sign for barca, wtf is all that about

Edit: and I get the impression he's just the right amount of mental
Not enough credibility yet with his new team mates.

WHAT???

Ive been clear with my views from day 1.

I briefly infiltrated The Plotters HQ to study them, the Intel I took back was vital to the war effort.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
Sun Tzu, The Art of War
Most of this thread can be summed up by a different Sun Tzu quote "If your opponent is of choleric temper, irritate him." ;)

The war is over, The Plotters lost.

Fancy Dan football + great squad built up by El Conquistador + two impressive cup runs + top half finish.

Of course they lost. They were always going to lose. Time for the debate (such as it was) to draw to a close this season.

Im afraid I have to bring up your favourite quote "the season isn't over yet"

The die is cast though. It's clear the season has seen us advance our playing style, confirm the quality of our young players, and provided us with good showings in two of the competitions available to us (and a base to climb the table with a couple of more wins).

There's no doubting the status of the manager at EFC, despite the jabbering of nobhead tv and twitter pundits, and the fumeageddon of football forum posters who fancy themselves as club chairmen.

Sun Tzu, The Art of War

I think one of Sun Tzu's rarer quotes would be better tbh
When the sun rises at the dawn of battle and ahead of you lies an army of superior numbers, knowing both yourself and your enemy means nothing if they have apache helicopters and you have pointy sticks.

Last season we finished 11th.. we currently sit 11th.. if we continue to be 11th at the end of the season.. you can consider that at least an Apache for the plotters... possibly even an A10 Thunderbolt, and if it gets worse it'll be a god damned B2 Stealth Bomber coming to liberate us from our Spanish Dictator destroying the cultist movement with one strike.

Or things may continue to improve and we can all become hippies, sitting in fields, toking joints and feeling the love for our Spanish liberator from the claws of our Scottish Dictator.. I don't know where I am going with this anymore but suffice to say, there's a lot of war based metaphors for Everton still to play for, lets hope they have the fight within themselves to kill Sun Tzu or whatever the hell we are talking about in this thread now.

We are definitely improving, not even close to the make out Dave, but we are improving, growing and playing better. Its good to see, but it has to yield significantly better results than we have seen so far imo.
