Roberto Martinez discussion

One cup run in a season. My emphasis has been upon two cups runs in one season....plus keeping reasonably close to the European places and putting together a formidable rebuilding programme.

Totally agree.... the average age of the squad is really good, the figures currently include Howard, Jags, Barry..... take them away and we are very close to Spurs.

He has obviously worked with the money he has been given and replaced slowly and surely the key areas....next a goalie

Our youth squads are as strong as ever... some real quality additions that look like breaking through.

For me, one more season will truely reap the awards... if the same move him on...

We can't win and leak goals glad we are entertaining the likes of carragher and redknapp good job coco
8 goals in 12 games conceded; won 4 out of the last 5. Next...
4th place is better than 5th.
...and that 4th place got us nothing in the end. Well in Moyesie. Next....
All season? This same season that's yielded 4 home PL wins.

I'll await the new style that can win more than that if it's ok.
Homes games again, nothing about 9 wins in all competitions away from home. Next...
Oh my word. A new mediocre target. We're not aiming to qualify for Europe anymore, we just aim to be "reasonably close" to European qualification places.

Can we qualify by having "two good cup runs" - losing semi-finalists in both competitions, maybe?
We haven't finished this season yet. We could win the cup or get 6th/7th and a Euro place that way if the results fall right with others. too. Next...
Good LORD! Roberto's second season was more enjoyable than his first?????! Jesus H. Christ on a bike, that is the most balls-out comment I have ever seen from you. 11th is now better than 5th, you heard it here first.

If ANYONE on here still can't see that @davek is wumming, there is no hope for them.
Football wise it is, and most would agree with that statement.

I think the officials had a hand to play in that. You are quick enough to defend Robertos horrible tactics in the LC semi on those grounds

When we have 9 away wins in the LEAGUE and a similar amount at home I'll be impressed

Ifs buts and maybes that's what Robertos reign is made of

Can't argue my own case, so I'll resort to abuse.

You make it so difficult not to though mate.
I have never come across a person so one sided to an argument as you. I thought my old fella was bad but you've beaten him hands down.

You've even forced me to post this (twice now)

14 wins from 34 games that includes 2 world beating cup runs is seen as progress.

This you will find fault with and now you will go back to since xmas or last 5 games or since our last game.

We have won 4 home games in 8 months with the best squad we have ever had in the prem
Moysie had us 6th or 7th and he has managed to take us down to 11th.
He persisted with a scared goalie for 18 months not knowing what to do.
Martinez is out of his depth my friend
The sooner he goes the safer we will be

Looks like Lineker isn't short sighted and sees the progress his club has taken with its squad building of a young team. Says we can challenge for the title next season if we keep the players together. Don't remember anyone saying that about us since the eighties. Must be doing something right in our squad build. Problem is because we are not a sky 4/5 the biggest problem is keeping them together. Year on and more experience.
