Roberto Martinez discussion

100%???

Blinded by Martinez

That was a great season, the Derby Victory, the Bolton game Prior to Christmas and one of the best Goodison Atmospheres of the PL era against UTD.

If you're saying it was 100% more entertaing than than that 04/05 season then your bias knows no bounds.

In terms of entertainment factor and the standard of football played then yes it was.

04/05 was an amazing season though and mainly due to the fact that we basically did what Leicester are doing now - except mostly with 1-0s.

@ianefc absolutely annihilating them in here again tonight.

When you've got the facts on your side rather than spin and conjecture, you have a mighty sword and shield in the fight

Godspeed Ian.

I used facts earlier today when I said we'd improved defensively in the 7 league games since the turn of the year compared to the same number of league games prior to that... like...

But no, Martinez doesn't have a clue and doesn't know how to change.

Simple fact remains he's not getting sacked any time soon, so all you little plotters have fun whinging and moaning at any little thing that goes wrong.

I for one, am enjoying the football we play (which is 10x that of the RS or Utd, as two examples) and while it's frustrating when we mess up I have faith we'll turn it around. That's not blind faith, I'm basing it on the standard of our general play.

Big few weeks for el coco coming up.

The cult have done themselves proud this past week though. @davek with his 'performance > results' speech. Another one comparing Guardiola's Bayern surrendering a 2 goal lead at Juve to Martinez's Everton. @BlueToff proudly claiming we are 'well in with a shot at a top half finish'. Then we've had the mind numbingly boring analysis of every game we've dropped points in, how we were robbed by bad luck, whereas every game we won was pure 100% managerial genius. Amazing, who'd have thought that could happen to one team over 2/3 of a season? The little 5 games of our choosing sample to include a trip to Carlisle of all places was absolute gold made all the funnier by the fact that our last 5 league games include losses at home to Pulis and a manager less Swansea

To top it all though it had to be @davek still banging the hilarious drum that 'we are consistently playing the best football in the league'.

Keep going lads. This is pure theatre. No one can question your dedication, you've really turned up here. Nil Satis lads Nil Satis
There's always 'a big few weeks coming up'. He's still here and will be for the foreseeable regardless of the 'big few weeks coming up'.

Look, the feller has presented the most entertaining brand of football on a week to week basis in the country. Evertonians and non-Evertonians accept that. He's bought 2 of the most promising young players in European football and has developed two more of them that he inherited. We're scoring goals by the bucket load. We have scored the most open play goals of any team in the PL. His team has been the most consistent domestic cup team of the season, and we lie about 5 points off a definite EL spot and probably a lot less than that if the places are handed to those below 5th spot.

Because of all that, this feller is in about as an impregnable a position as you can be in this game.

Throw a window open onto the world. Posting stuff on a forum and having it 'liked' by about 10 other people seems to be giving you a false impression of reality.

See, in your disturbed rage you are lashing out, blinded to the failures of the fraud incumbent boss.

New owners and I'm afraid he will be in a unique moment of P45 acceptance.

Ian's not only right, but fair, balanced and even. He's pulled you apart here this evening.

What is that mess?
You know what it is, you're not stupid.

You just don't like it as the stats (which aren't all bad against Martinez) don't go fully in favour of the manager.

Some interesting stuff in their though, also it's worthy of being acknowledged as someone has taken time to research the stats and contrast and compare them.

Steve Round is lighting Sky Sports up tonight with his wit and presence. Goodison must have been a right barrel of laughs with him and David around. I think he's James Milner in disguise.

It's a jumble of figures that you have the arrogance to not even explain the significance of. Probably for the good reason that it's insignificant.

Behave Dave.

My last post said 'you're not Stupid' so why on earth would I need to explain that to you? It's not astrophysics, it just shows that Martinez isn't the Messiah based on those stats. But TBF not as bad as I thought it may have read in other aspects.

That's a balanced chart and reply.

I doubt you've even looked at it and just assumed it was yet MORE statistical proof that Martinez ain't up to it.

As if I need that.

Not only a brilliantly graphic demonstration of the Martinez follies and wafer-thin excuses, but a clear demonstration of;

  • the importance of Lukaku (scoring after less shots)
  • the decline of Howard and the ineptitude of the defensive organisation

Behave Dave.

Lads
I think you can debate this subject without getting bitchy about it.

Prove me right ?
