Thing is i think Martinez wants us playing like Barca/Arsenal type football and they dont shut up shop. They would bring on a forward to keep Wham from going all out attack on us....

Arsenal fans are unhappy with Wenger and sections have been calling for his head for a couple of years now. Because they wanted trophies, the F.A. Cup gave him sometime.

Barca, seriously? They have Messi Suarez and Neymar up top. And if you've read anything about Pep (i know hes not there anymore) but he had them drilled in defensive setup, Henry was banging on about it the other month. Drilled in what to do when they don't have the ball, who covers what area, how much pressing they need to do, who covers who.

Enrique has carried that on, for all the world class players they have, they work and work to win the ball back and defender properly.

Results over substance, we don't have some right to play this type of mythical football that everyone seems to think we are entitled too, we are football club and that means wins and clean sheets.

I can't help but feel there's a better manager out there who could do a hell of a lot better with the squad.

IMO he's not playing to the team's strengths and complicating the situation by his use of subs, tactics. This is by far the best team we've had in a few years but the form over the last 18 months now has been a disgrace. Home record is horrific. It's always been hard for teams to come to Goodison and get a result.
I think he needs to go now regardless of the outcome against Chelsea. There is no indication that things will change.

Very very frustrating as today showed many positives but it's a results business and currently our home form is unacceptable. However the time to assess the season is in May, who knows we may yet get a silver lining.

Anyone mate. Someone who can win games after 2 goal leads or last minute winners.

Hughes has outperformed him for 2 seasons in a row, koeman as well. Neither of them have 20 goals a season strikers there. Liverpool just got a league winning manager in who also was 90 minutes away from a European cup. Hell Eddie Howe could well over take Martinez.

Id honeslty cry if we got in Mark Hughes.

Id also be gutted with koeman.

Howe needs more experience for me, the money around now we could attract most foreign managers.

We would need someone who has the same vision as Martinez but who could deliver it better than him i think....

I think even @davek would agree that if we replaced Martinez with someone with same ethos but better then of course as hes better hed be an upgrade LOL

For that you need to look at someone who can bring youth through, sign young players with huge potential and play like Barca....
