Roberto Martinez discussion

Yay, real money will be handed to this fraud for him to buy more Niasse's to replace all our best players that are leaving. Let's rejoice

Lets hope he's not allowed that money hey

Could end up with another McCarthy/Besic/Lennon/Del/Lukaku/Barry/Robles

Look, shorn of all the abuse and the smart arse comments here's where we are: Roberto Martinez is and will remain Everton manager until at least the early part of next season - at least.

It apparently makes it easier for some here to use abuse toward me rather than accept that.

Deal with the situation like men and not a load of drama queens throwing a hissy fit. We are where we are. He's not the manager you want (not this week anyway), but he is our boss and will be for some time yet.

What is the point of the posts in this thread? Do you feel like what you say repeating each others criticism gets a job done with anyone in power who makes a decision? It's all surface froth.

We win next week and we're at Wembley and that and a midtable finish leaves the manager in peace and in place.

He's not doing this and he's not doing that. The players are the ones on the pitch throwing handsome leads away. Do you think that bypasses completely the notice of the decision makers at this club? The manager can set this team up to get in a winning position even with 10 men; he cant make those players grow a pair and see out the last 10 minutes.

Settle down. Absolutely nothing is happening on the managerial front other than them backing him with a lot of cash in the summer to add steel.

Don't count on it. You are an eternal optimist in the face of abject failure. I would be very surprised if officials at the Club didn't read threads like this. And i would be absolutely gobsmacked if they didn't see the tactical naivety of a manager who can't take the defensive side of the game seriously, and who as a result has a talented squad woefully underperforming. I give him to the end of the season to turn things around, and on past form i think it's highly unlikely that he will.

You say for some time! Based on what does he deserve more time?

...I suspect you're right with regards to change being unlikely but players play to a system defined by the Manager. When that system is found to be repeatedly flawed it's not unreasonable for the manager to be held to account.
