Roberto Martinez discussion

He has brought this on himself. If he'd dropped Howard when everyone knew he was finished we probably wouldn't be in this position. He put himself under massive pressure, and now there is no margin for error. We haven't beaten any decent teams this season, we have thrown away handfuls of points, we are 5 points off 16th place in the league. If we don't beat Chelsea, Arsenal, Man Utd or the RS between now and the end of the season we have woefully underachieved consistently and he should go.

We have no excuses really, this team had played together, it was fairly settled and this should have been the season that we kicked on. Luckily it sounds like we have enough money to keep Lukaku and Barkley, but if we don't finish in the top 8 the manager should be gone.

Look, shorn of all the abuse and the smart arse comments here's where we are: Roberto Martinez is and will remain Everton manager until at least the early part of next season - at least.

It apparently makes it easier for some here to use abuse toward me rather than accept that.

Deal with the situation like men and not a load of drama queens throwing a hissy fit. We are where we are. He's not the manager you want (not this week anyway), but he is our boss and will be for some time yet.

Do you think our very wealthy and ambitious new owner will share that view?

...I suspect you're right with regards to change being unlikely but players play to a system defined by the Manager. When that system is found to be repeatedly flawed it's not unreasonable for the manager to be held to account.
I disagree. How is a manager supposed to stop players throw leads away in a game? He cant hold their hands. They are grown men and should stand up and be counted instead of acting like the jelly fish most of them are....the divvy captain most of all.

Yeah because having those players has really enabled us to progress to the next level hasn't it. I wonder what's holding us back...

Hang on Mr flip flop

You said something that was slagging off his handling of transfers when in reality he's been excellent at bringing in good players

I never mentioned his skills in managing a team

Luvvie Bill may not have sacked him, but we're now owned by an Iranian billionaire accountant.

He will be looking at his football club and thinking 'How has a club that consistently finished in and around the Top 6 gone to scrapping it out in the bottom half?'

Enough is enough, he will not change.

Davek will never change his opinion, he has dug a hole for himself and there is no chance he can climb out of it. I don't even think he believes the stuff he posts anymore.

If we go out of the cup next week and finish the season in the bottom half, there's no way he'll still be our manager at the start of next season and neither should he be, if that's how it pans out.

It's called performance review David, and he'll have massively under performed for the second season running.

See Dogleash and Brent for details.
