Roberto Martinez discussion

If we lose vs Chelsea and Arsenal, I could see him going in the international window but at the same time can't think of a replacement who would be a definite improvement at this point being available.

Summer will be a different story.

I'm still swaying towards giving him until the end of the season but unless he wins us the cup and/or drastically turns around the home form (too little too late probably), then I'd understand him going.

I'll stick by him as he's done a lot of good, but, ultimately, I am really now starting to doubt if he has the ability to take us to the next level with the system, and it may well be a case that he has to be replaced by somebody capable of using the system he has set in place to take us on.

Take a deep breath mate. The fumageddon on forums bears little relation to reality with this club. No one there is seeing what people on here is seeing and arguing. NONE of them.

Couldn't possibly know that unless you're on the board yourself. New investor might have some common sense.

I think it is mainly down to him actually. The mental fragility and softness absolutely comes from the manager

Not entirely.

Yesterday he messed up with the sub and that's the main issue as it facilitated our capitulation. For me though the players must all take a hard long look at themselves - Rom - as good as he was - also for that penalty miss.

The only players who, for me, can really come out with their heads held a loft are Lennon and probably Besic.

Everton aren't an issue industry wide as a club that should part company wit it's manager...most would see it as weird given our footballing improvement. Our board will take their cue from them not footy forums.

Let's all just calm down and see what the next three months brings and then start planning for 2016/17.
How do you know Dave. It'd calm a lot of people down if you let us know about the inner machinations of EFC, the links with the hierarchy you have. I think as fellow blues we at least deserve that. Just struggling to comprehend how two seasons have panned out so badly.

I am calm David, ive thought of little else for 24hours.

He should be given the rest of the season and if he doesnt win a shiny or get a Europa he should be removed, quickly.

Tbh Goat I'm starting to agree.

Not fully that I want him to go, but yeh, something has to change with him. He showed us how good he can be yesterday, and ultimately undid it all - or at least allowed that to happen - which indicates a huge step back considering we'd all but cut that out in recent weeks.

Every single manager has a flaw. Usually more than one.

Martinez has shown last season, and this, that he can overcome what many perceive to be his.

Thing is, we cannot escape the brutal reality that this/these flaws are being repeated. The table shows it. The stats show it.

His attributes, for me, still outweigh the flaws. Just. And mainly because his flaws should be a damn sight easier to fix than his attributes would be to emulate, if that makes sense.

But Christ, he makes it hard at times.
