Roberto Martinez discussion

We'll see. Hopefully you're right. But if there is no big spending maybe it can also nudge a lot more people to a point where enough really is enough.
The fact Martinez has already said there was plenty available to him in January makes it harder for there not to be investment in the Summer too. Don't remember Moyes ever saying that - or at least not for a good few years - it was always "the chairman does his best to give me whatever he can" and stuff like that.

36 points to play for in the league too mi amigo. Perhaps you shouldn't have put all your emotional chips on that fourth place when the season was only half the way through. Foolish that.

emotional chips? do they come with mayo?

But yes, you are indeed correct, it was wrong of me to dream, only fools dream, the clever people accept 7th every season and chant "Theres always next Season", I can only hope that 1 day I can aspire to that level of roboticness.

20 years without a trophy, 14 years under the current club owners, 14 years without identifying new invenstment to support the club on the pitch.

Sunshine thinking will only get you so far and to ask the supporters to ignore reality is completely wrong.

Fair enough, you've got a point there. I do think it was a similar pattern to most games we've had at Stamford Bridge though, albeit we did have more of the ball. Not that it concerned Chelsea.

We had 53% possession today and 52% possession when we played chelsea away last year.

We're about the same position as a club as we were last year. Good football but not good enough up front.

I have hope that this manager can take us to the next level but he ain;t done it yet.

We are happy Dave, nobodys saying get this Catalan Clown out, we can see the progress, the syle of play, the will to win every game, we see all this, but also see, for the another Season on the run, a Manager who sat on his hands and threw away a chance to take the Club to another level.

I said it before mate: I thought he was very meek in that last window. I was disappointed in him. I'm hoping he lays down some ground rules in the summer to Billy Liar regarding not expecting him to roll over like Moyes did.

All eyes are on this relationship now. I'll be gutted if he doesn't grow a pair and demand backing.

That's a different issue and unfortunately we can't tell others what to think, that's up to them.

The current team are playing good football and showing progress, I would like to think that progress will continue as the manager has more time.

Obviously being Everton will all probably go to pot like.

There's every chance that this year could be his best opportunity to take us to that next level as well. People are convinced that we'll only progress from this point, I have my doubts for numerous reasons. Main one being the lack of funds to compete of course.

Nah, I disagree.

He knows how to play football does Bobby. The more this team becomes his the better we'll get. I never expected us to peak in his first year.

I have high hopes.

It did though mate. They were very frustrated and lost their composure.

Let's have it right about today: they got lucky at the death with a harshly awarded dead ball kick.

The analysis of this game would have been vastly different if it hadn't gone in. We'd be here now talking about how martinez gave Mourinho a masterclass...which he did anyway like.

Of course we will and have progressed, you think im saying Martinez is a clown, I watch the games, I see how we play, I see the mentality, the squad harmony, thats on the manager, ive nothing but praise for the way he sets us up, the things he does in training, I just feel as tho we had a golden chance to really kick on and we or rather HE didnt take it.

Let's hope he also has £30m to transform our forward line. Unfortunately every other team in that top 7 will probably out spend us this summer, to finish above 3 of them you are asking for a minor miracle.
