Roberto Martinez discussion

For long periods he was.

The rest of you cowards who wanted Martinez to remain kept your mouths shut and let @davek to the lions.

Those who kept their mouths shut are worse than the plotters in my book.

We were staying relatively silent because we were admiring a master of his craft pirouetting through a firestorm.

*Remembers the post-Stoke thread and smiles

I love him. He does my nut in sometimes (Naismith on the wing LOL) but then he just says something suave and we sex someone off the pitch like its nothing and then balance is restored.

I should have been more vocal during the dark days of last Christmas FORGIVE ME BOB

I hope that in time the brave lonely battle of @davek during those dark hours for this forum is recognised. He's to all intents and purposes GOT's Che Guevara.
When we win our 22nd league, it will be davek's avatar that will be adorning the side of Goodison. He's the John the Baptist to Bobby's Jesus, the Trotski to his Lenin. Father's will whisper to wide-eyed sons: "He knew, lad. He knew."

Funes Mori a new low
I get Osman's retiring soon, Hibbo's no longer in the picture and Alcaraz is bossing it on the beaches of Gran Canaria but you can't just manufacture a new scapegoat like that. Need a few more poor performances yet from the Argentine Alcaraz before you can call an egg an egg.

Rookie mistake, gotta wait for half a season of being good first like.

That's the equivalent to playing forum hoofball. Make sweeping statements and vaulting be damned, I say. Even Davek gets it wrong (re: Klopp), but if so many lads weren't afraid of posterity laughing at them, maybe Martinez would have had more vocal supporters during Dark Christmas.

That being said, I have a vaulting nuke primed and ready for the right moment. Oh, it's a big one.

We're 7th after a decent start. So from the depths of last Christmas we went from a team staring relegation in the face to one who scraped the required number of 1-0 wins to come mid table to one that has had a decent start. Any 'victory' will only be one if we now go on and win something or qualify for Europe of some form.

The question is, if we come 8th or 9th, and don't win anything, where does that leave us? I hope this season will be the polar opposite of last season and we glide into fourth and win a trophy. If we don't though all we're really doing is what Moyes did but with better players.
