Roberto Martinez discussion

I'm not having that! lol

I'm not using it as the reason we lost today, but the wave of emotion (or lack of) around Goodison was obvious even from NZ. Flat, desperate day.
I imagine that reflected the performance as it usually does, but if the players had gone for it we could have seen some Howard inspired teary passion

Exactly how is Mirallas going to get a bid more than we had off West Ham for him now Dave, he basically isn't playing - lost his International status as well - if anything teams will now look and go 'hang on he isn't featuring he used to be a starter - cue low ball bids)
He'll get his chance. We're only 9 games into the season.

I dont like him. Decent player every so often but a terrible team player. No corp spirit whatsoever. It's my hope he gets a run of games before Christmas and does well; then we get an offer in january and punt him and have it part fund an incoming playmaker.

I think that's harsh.

General view of our season before today was about 7/10 I reckon. One defeat shouldn't have comeback performances like WBA classified as 'meh'.

And the cup matches have been fighting affairs.

Let's not go overboard about a loss to a team assembled for about £300M.

Thing is though Dave for a come from behind victory we had to play shockingly bad to go 2-0 behind, much rather the team actually played decently and not stick themselves in a hole, hard to laud come from behind victories when their like that

He gets goals and assists on the regular (when played), who's arsed if he's a 'team player'.

Well it's been and done, we've lost to 1st and 2nd this season only, it's not the end of the world.

Not a great place to go and play football: facing a Pulis team away.

We've played some very good football and let ourselves down badly first half against Watford and most of today's game. Other than that, the performances have been acceptable.

As said, our fighting spirit has been a hallmark this season, today is a shock to the system in that respect. First time we haven't really had a good go.

The personnel wasn't the issue though fundamentally. The attitude wasn't there. There was no pace and urgency about Everton today. Why? I dont know. International break and not refocussing after it; the terrible news about HK which must have taken the whole organisation aback (I know I was...I couldn't have given a flying one about that game there today, tbh).

I dont think this season is veering between season one and season two, not given who we've had to play. This season is way toward the season one end of the spectrum.
For all the supporters it's been a surreal experience waking up to that news then having to think about the game but I doubt the HK news had any impact on the players today, they probably never saw him play,or even saw a team he managed play. They play for who ever pays their wages and today was just another black armband.

He's eye catching for a couple of games and gets a goal every now and again. His attitude stinks. He cant play in a Martinez team. I understand why RM re-signed him as the club needed to get a good deal on him.
