Anyone else watching right now on BBC 1?

Its very hard to dislike the guy and I never did dislike him even during his time at the end here. But is his 'over' positivity his downfall. He speaks of everyone as though they are the best in their field and i believe that it gives a false sense of their true ability.

A few examples in this documentary are he speaks of kompany as a coach and his unrivalled experience and brilliance etc. He also speaks of how fantastic the Belgium football league Is and its perfect combination of everything. Let's be honest, the Belgium league is pretty poor. If he was just a bit more truer to reality then I think it would help him.

He has great charisma and I think he would be the type of manager that lots would enjoy working with, but his optimism Borders delusion and that for me is why he failed at Everton.

He's a bullcrapper. Phenomenal.

That is exactly why he failed, he thought that his way of playing was the best in the world and there was never any problems with it, I don't think it was an ego thing but just deluded.

Other managers worked out his tactics and that there was no chance he would change, it must have made training during the week very easy for them as they would just have to work on one system and master that, rather than try to second guess Martinez and/or work on a few different tactics.

If he just had that one little bit of flexibility (like he actually showed against Arsenal but only in that one game) then he may have actually done something here.

he also thought Tom Cleverley was one of the greatest midfielders of a generation.

The man is a crackpot
Mate you’ve done the comments a disservice there:

“I think you do not have a better English player. Technically, he is as good as you get. The way he executes, how he reads the game, for me he is one of the most sensational you are going to see in Premier League history.”

My problem with him was a total refusal to adapt and/or learn, especially with regard to defending. I think he really believed it was some noble "being true to his principles" malarkey, but it was unacceptable in the real world. I hope he has changed.

My biggest problem with him was the fact that he was totally delusional especially after getting beat.

He also though signing Aiden McGeady was a good idea.

It took years to get rid of some of his signing for years.

Points won in Everton Premier League seasons:

53 44 50 61 42 40 43 50 42 43 59 39 61 50 58 65 63 61 54 56 63 72 47 47 51 49 54 49 59

...an utter miracle.

Big stinking turd that got a tune out of a well drilled Moyes team by fluking the signing of Lukaku. After a season of not training set pieces of defensive drills his true skillset started to show and the team went to crap.
He's working with a national team because his wank training methods are only for part of the season and other managers are making sure his players are well drilled.
