I've said it many times but I reckon Martinez will be a good fit for us. Obviously I may be wrong but I can just see him doing well here for some reason.

Sorry but in what way are you offering a friendly advice especially you posted some sarcastic comment to me yesterday. It is absolutely fine if you do not agree with my opinion but seriously what is the point of posting that message (you know which post I am saying).

And thanks, I probably get ban by the mods now.

Have you posted anything to warrant a ban ??? I don't think so ?? Not my call..... I made a comment on your post as I genuinely find it annoying when people state things that they have absolutely no idea about and no substance to back it up...that's all. I'm sorry if that upsets you.

As for Martinez, I understand you don't want or like him due to your posts but to continually post negative posts day after day after day gets a bit tiresome to read. You're entitled to your view but you can't change other peoples view merely by posting on an internet forum.

As an aside, Martinez ...IF he gets the job will get my full support and backing.

Actually feel a bit sorry for bill now having seen the state of him in those pics. At the end of it all, we can throw in our opinions but this decision is momentous and will obviously be on his hands. I think he's feeling it. Either that, or he's had a b4stard of a hangover all day

Maybe the quails eggs and truffle moulade wasn't quite on form and, after blowing up the size of a large beagle he's burst outside to let loose a very welcome fart and been halted in his tracks by the paparazzi. Holding one in after such rich cuisine can be an absolute [Poor language removed].

Problem for me is that the media/fans of other clubs will/have already started with the whole "everton will struggle this season" "baines and felliani will go" bla bla bla but the problem is we havent had a manager to tell it how it is, moyes played the small club line, Kenwright is a Redcoat ****, neville/sharp etc. never big us up so we need a manager to come in and tell the facts as they are but martinez is not the man for that as he's too nice, but Redcoat wouldnt hire someone who would big us up

I honestly think Lennon would be ace at that....he wouldn't give a flying one about upsetting the rednecks and the Top 4 by treating them with the absolute contempt and disdain they deserve.

Just watching the match now and thought to myself how much Jags, Baines and Coleman have improved as players and how strong our defence is with them in it.

Anyway, I digress - the reason for posting is to add my penny's worth on Martinez. Who isn't my preferred candidate for the role. But in all honesty, I don't know who ever was.

The team today represents 11 years of hard graft by Moyes and I'll always look upon him in the highest regard for changing our fortunes. He did a brilliant job despite failing to win any silverware (you could question why in recent seasons with a team as good as ours but I just felt it was never going to happen with Moyes - a combination of bad luck and Moyes' failure to win the 'big one-offs' whether it be picking the wrong team or getting it wrong tactically).

So when I looked at the potential candidates for the job it stunk of 'average - good'. Except for Lennon. At first I wanted Laudrup but on closer examination his managerial record isn't great (even at Swansea which surprised me so had it not been for Michu who knows what would have happened with the Swans this season).

Then I got on the Perriera band wagon in a big way. Foreign, lost one in two seasons, wears an armband - I was all over it. Then the reality came that he would be a massive gamble.

So now it looks like its going to be Martinez. One of his traits which comes across is his integrity. He's an Everton man in this regard. Not like that other two faced egotistical former prick Rodgers. The second thing I like is the way he plays football; although Wigan were clueless at the back (which I put down to personnel and not tactical ineptness) they were great to watch. That performance against City in the final was inspiring.

Martinez's transfer record is a bit hit and miss. He's still learning his trade as a manager and will be with us so I expect a couple of mistakes along the way.

Ultimately I'm confident he'll do a good job if appointed. I don't buy into the attitude 'oh we'll finish 8th, 10th etc next season'. It's going to be a transition changing Moyes team and will take time. Firstly Jags is going to need to learn how to pass a ball on the deck! But I don't see any reason we can't still compete for 5th next season with a few good additions. COYB

Well balanced post that.

Martinez suits us perfectly. I'm open to other options too but he just feels right one for the job.

This, this and furthermore, this.
The older I get the more I trust my instincts and it just feels like the right time and club for martinez. Obviously if we get VP and play the hot laser then I'm hopeful that would be great too.
