That article is interesting untill you see his possible starting XI. Heitinga on the right of a 3 man defense with Ozzy sitting right infront of them, no Gibson and Vic being the furthest up front.

Can anyone sum up, with out getting long winded, why Martinez is a better bet than Periera?

His possible starting line up is based on the formation Martinez has favoured at Wigan so he is just putting our players into that. Not necessarily saying that is what we should do...

yea, I get that but I think, in that system, I'd play Johnny at the centre with Jags on the right, put Gibson or Fellaini in front of them instead of Osman and if there is one striker going to be furthest upfront, I'd use Jelavic. Just making the point that I wasn't mad on his team selection which put me a bit off an otherwise interesting article.

Ah ok. I think he has based most of it on the player ratings on the site though as Osman and Anichebe are higher rated than Gibson and Jelavic respectively and then Jags as our highest rated centre back would be in the middle.

sorry, I may have been hasty... I thought YOU put Everton's players into Martinez's formation, and then you criticized HIM for YOUR selection.. yeah, some wires crossed the wrong way...

Martinez has been know for adapting his systems, he is not just a 3-5-2 manager... etc...
