Do we know how long it will be untill Marinez gets the nod?
Lads a long ball isn't always a hoof from Jags to Fellaini you know.
Yeah Fellaini actually can do something with them.
When it's Caldwell to Maloney it just goes straight to the opposition.
I would say by Friday if not I can't see it going beyond Monday.
I do like the attitude he apparently tries to instil in players that's a great point. I'm more interested in how they might apply to our league record than the half-lottery of Cups but it's valid.
However I would say that I think for us to kick on we need to have a better attitude, discipline and killer instinct against the teams *below* us. We actually did fairly well against the top sides this year (you could even make a case that we did good to great in terms of points gained -- despite not getting the much talked about away win v. old sky four); meanwhile Arsenal did horrendously against the top teams and got fourth anyway because they beat the teams they should beat.
Now you could make a case with the 19th budget in the league there aren't many teams he was supposed to beat at Wigan. I wish he'd done better in "six-pointers" (but that's another way of saying I wish he hadn't been relegated I guess).
We've been doing fairly well against them for a few seasons now. But quite often it's score one and the backs to the wall. That perpetuates the myth of plucky little Everton and hints at the mentality of the previous manager. For me, seeing us go all out to bury some of these so called better sides would be glorious and would change the perceptions that stand around the club at present. I think it was that attitude that cost us potential cup wins over the Moyes years.
You've only got to look at the table to see where we can kick on league wise. Draws and lots of them. Moyes was on record as he didn't think much of any result over 2-0, or words to that effect. I don't get the impression Bob Martin plays the game that way. It may have even cost him at times at Wigan. It's far more likely to bite you on the arse with Gary Caldwell than Phil Jagielka though.
The relegations not even my major gripe with Bob. I think that was always inevitable. Naismith signed for us over Stoke due to how each club is viewed. You can only imagine what it's like trying to entice decent players to Wigan, even if you're willing to pay a decent wage, you'd need no other clubs to be interested. For that reason they were always going to go down with a selling policy.
My worry was he always tried playing the silky stuff on the worst pitch in professional football and it cost them. He refused to adapt to his circumstances and you cant be like that with a squad our size.
Don't know if anyone's read this article, but it's definitely interesting.

...I've just come in from work so apologies for not being sure of developments, but I thought I heard on the radio this morning that Martinez will not respond until Monday. I'm not sure of the status of this, has he been offered the position or just been interviewed?
That article is interesting untill you see his possible starting XI. Heitinga on the right of a 3 man defense with Ozzy sitting right infront of them, no Gibson and Vic being the furthest up front.
Can anyone sum up, with out getting long winded, why Martinez is a better bet than Periera?

It isn't when the Shiite do it
Expereince of this league, experience of the english management system, experience of winning trophies with a minnow, expeirence of winning trohpies vs teams who outspend you in huge ammounts.
Vitor has always been one of the big fish, he's never faced the financial inequality's within the league that we do.
