Sleep walking snap. FYI, John Woods was speaking Martinez name months ago as a potential candidate for Moyes.

I suppose being a winner gave him the qualification to speak out about ambition while the rest of us sleep walk to the owners tune.
I'm surprised at the supporters not wanting Martinez, and rather not have him over 2 managers who no one knew last month. crazy.
I am mate. I don't worry about Martinez managing the team so much as it wasn't Moyes' strong point for me. He was brilliant in the transfer market and this is where Martinez needs to be careful
....not too sure. My understanding is that the players consider Moyes to be a top coach worthy of respect on the training pitch. I remember Graveson and others since saying how good he is so I don't go along with him only being good in the transfer market.
Not saying he is only good in the market, just saying that was his main strength. I'm sure he is a very good coach, but IMO was an average match day manager.
Great post, spot on.Can't agree with that. Naturally as fans do judging a manager they often just look at flaws. His league finishes over a LONG period tell you everything you need to know about the job moyes did. However he did it! Moyes played a way to get results, that more often than not got those results over the course of a season. Of course you can always look at particular's where he got it wrong. You can clearly look at away games to the big 4 where it didn't work. But if your looking at teams we failed to beat who we should of done as a stick to beat him, then you have to look at prob 6 teams every season that we should never have beaten...but we did.
Moyes did a great job, under difficult circumstances when teams around him were getting richer and stronger year after year. I think he'll only be truly appreciated now he's gone and we test life without him whilst seeing him do well at utd, yes winning cups, playing more attacking with top quality players.
Martinez has come in for pelters from just about every ex player and pundit known to man saying he just isn't good enough. Unsworth, sharp, Ratcliffe, Southall, Matt Holland, Cundy, all have said they don't get the hype with him and he's a poor choice.
Don't get me wrong I don't want him either, but didn't I see someone put the stats on here that Martinez had a better win percentage at Swansea than Rodgers, and although his win percentage at Wigan was poor, it was still better than Rodgers win percentage at Reading?
If those stats are genuine, I honestly can't remember Rodgers getting as much stick when he joined Liverpool.
They're judging him on his record, which is ****e however you want to try and dress it up.Just because those people can't see the hype doesn't mean they're right. What if they're looking at things too simplistically? Judging him on his league finishes with Wigan? None of those guys are renowned for being great football minds. I've got no doubt that Martinez is more intelligent than any of them.

Thing is though, most, if not all of them have said they want an internal appointment, which im almost sure that 99.9% of Evertonians do not want.

They probably hope that after internal hiring some of them would have a nice new jobs as well.Exactly. What other top 6 club would hire internally. Not sure what these pundits, even the legends are thinking
