I hope that tomorrow brings an end to this thread one way or the other.

If it is RM, so be it - I will give my full support. I have examined the other possibilities and am not strongly enough convinced in favour of any of them to threaten to throw toys out of my pram.

What I want is this issue sorted and the summer transfer market to be entered asap.

COYB!!!

I hope whoever is appointed will have the backing of you all. He's going to need it.

What worries me is too many of you foolishly backing yourself into one corner over one candidate and convincing yourselves that the others are inferior to them. None of you, nor I, know this.

It's a new chapter for the club and as much as it could all go tits up, it could be sound. Only time will tell and that's what will happen.

This.

This on toast.

Great post.

It needs a conclusion now ASAP. I know it may sound trivial but these managers in the running are all I imagine waiting to go off on there holls and have the down time and re-charge for the next season. They also will need to sort lots out moving to a new club and we don't want to be lagging behind everyone else!

Come on bill, enough's enough now, you clearly know who ur appointing so get it finalized and announced before you piss everyone involved off.

There's more than one reason why a manager is appointed tho. No manager is a safe choice on the pitch...ie keeping us where moyes had us up at the top, it could go wrong or right for any of VP Martinez or Ralph or anyone else we appointed...

The safe choice comments for Martinez comes from being a guy who will come in and carry on moyes work behind the scene's. the youth set up, the Everton DNA, keeping the club ticking over the way it has been. Not coming in and changing all the staff, filling the club with strangers only to all vacate once it goes wrong. Continuity for the players that there still at the same special club running the same way albeit with a new gaffer.

There's no safe option on the pitch for us with a managerial change...
There are safe options off the pitch for us with a managerial change...

If you want to turn your nose up at that as being un-ambitious so be it...if you think moyes set up of the club and how we're perceived as a good club is wrong so be it....If you think we're run so badly behind the scenes (and I'm talking coach's, youth, ect not boardroom) and want a foreign invasion and a whole new regime, again so be it....I happen to think your wrong there's a lot of things right with EFC which I hope remain whoever's our manager.

Maybe what you say is right. I wonder what the players think, though?

They as a group might think they'd like a change. Someone a bit more adventurous who'll send them out with a more positive
game plan. Someone who has enough faith in their ability and believes that they can move higher, instead of being in the top 6 or 8 comfort zone year after year.

I won't be at all unhappy if Martinez gets the job because I like him and he may even take us the next step. If he doesn't, though, I'll always wonder, what if?

Whoever is selected for the post of manager will not pleas everyone,
But very soon we will all have to bite the bullet and get behind him,
At the end of the day we are all Evertonians coyb

Exactly this. If you believe the media ITK, we have three good candidates. No guarantees, but their never has been, for anyone.
