we should be enjoying this situation that "trio" is ace. anyone of those will do for me and im sure after dissapointment (that some will feel) 99% of blues will back our new manager

*it's not like we are choosing from Lennon, McLeish or Stubbs

Perhaps the interviews are just a ruse and Billy will tell us that despite some outstanding candidates he is making an internal appointment.

I hope whoever is appointed will have the backing of you all. He's going to need it.

What worries me is too many of you foolishly backing yourself into one corner over one candidate and convincing yourselves that the others are inferior to them. None of you, nor I, know this.

It's a new chapter for the club and as much as it could all go tits up, it could be sound. Only time will tell and that's what will happen.

Has someone hacked Chico's account?!

You're not wrong though mate. I fear if whoever comes in gets off to a bad start that will be really tough to turn around.

I think any manager who comes in even if it was Stubbs would be given time. Bill isn't one to sack someone in a hurry.

Nah, most of us will give him time and support him. Not all everton fans are brain dead.

You'd hope so. But a loss to Palace here and a draw at home to West Ham and the knives will be out.

Oh yeah for sure. No way Bill would sack someone. He'd have to pay up their contract!!

It will be a disaster chico lad....the job is too big for him

Gone within 2 seasons and then Bill will pull the wool over the fans eyes again and make the fans jump through hoops for the next one.

Just for clarity...I support the lads on the pitch but the owners can go to hell.

In the other thread when Martinez "quit" Wigan (and everyone assumed he was coming here) I'd say well over 90% of people were supportive (even those who didn't want Martinez).

Honestly there were far more people posting messages like "I hope everyone supports him" than people saying "I don't support him." I think some people were sad that there weren't more people being unsupportive and they just went ahead and wrote their "be more supportive" posts even though everyone was already doing that anyway.

I am confident the same thing will happen again when it becomes official and people will be far more interested in the 1% having a pop at Martinez than the 99% who get behind the new manager.

I'm confident the same would happen if it's VP and the Martinez supporters (a much smaller group than VP supporters of course) are sad.

Agreed. You'll have to dig deep to find people who (while perhaps disappointed) aren't supportive (although I'm sure a few people will go out of their way to dig those people up and argue with them).

Doesn't mean we can't be on Team VP until it's finished though.

Its the same situation as having your favourite player dropped for a game, you still support the team, same goes with a new manager, he will always get my full support up until a time he starts to do damage to the club, be it player, manager, or chairman, koff kenwright, a massive reason why if he was appointed which they wont be now then id have a tough time stomaching lennon or stubbs, or weir
