I think what Dave Whelan has said there is pretty definitive mate.

I'm going to try my best not to be too negative about this, but it's difficult, especially when you take on board we're actually paying money to bring Martinez here.

Let's focus on the fact he turned down Liverpool and ended up Everton manager. That'll piss them off no end.

Sounds like a bit of non story that though, bet there was no unusual circumstance or event surrounding this break.

He'll be a decent choice I reckon. All we can do is give him our backing.

Winning mentality, no compo required, looks boss in a jumper.

Would undoubtedly be a gamble but so is Martinez.

Maybe he's not interested. We can only get managers who actually want the job, and he's currently at the unbeaten league champions who are playing in a fairly high quality domestic league.
