Martinez is a young manager and still learning. He is recognised as an excellent coach and is highly regarded at both clubs that he has managed.
He has made mistakes. I think that he may have learned that attacking football must be tempered with a solid defensive structure as well.
We should think back to when David Moyes first came to Everton and he too made mistakes, and plenty of them.Remember the falling out he had with Duncan Ferguson where Ferguson was banned from the training ground.
Martinez will learn very quickly the difference in scale between Everton and Wigan,he will also be told of the expectations at a club like Everton.

I think the interview will be very interesting. We know how highly Bill Kenwright regarded David Moyes and what he accomplished in his time at Everton. The very fact that Stubbs/Weir/Neville/Ferguson? were interviewed for the managers job shows the regard that these people are held in and I would suggest that Bill Kenwright will want to see them feature in key roles in the new managerial regime.
I think that Bill Kenwright would see the departure of these people as the dismantling of the David Moyes era...and that will not be acceptable to him.
I think the interview will be as much about the changes that the new managers want to make as it will be about how the see the club moving forward.
I think that any of the canditates who refuses to work with those named in key positions and want to bring their own associates with them will not be the new manager at Everton.

I don't know what Martinez or any other canditate has in mind, but the decision may not be as clear cut as the odds suggest.

Do you have proof of this one? Not having a go, just don't think i've seen it. It's all he said she said stuff (Limp Bizkit).
I said the Martinez Everton talks was the only certain thing.

I'll try and find you the link.( I have previously posted this) Basically Porto offered him a two contract which Pereira tried to negotiate to a one yr.
His agent (Same agent as Kevin Mirallas) has come out and said Pereira is considering his options and has asked Porto for more time which has been granted.

I remember all the posts that Moyes doesn't win away against big clubs such as Arsenal and Liverpool, what is Martinez record against the big clubs. I like the fact he had his training at Wigan and will take the step up with us.

Ok nice one. So that seems relatively certain. I have a few doubts as I beleive the paper that's from, The Record, has a bad rep. But we'll see.

Still too much guess work going on.

If Pereira has been interviewed (can't find proof of this but enough people are saying it) than I remain optimistic.
All circumstantial evidence suggests he has.
The man has experience winning leagues at a club with massive expectations and as well as exposure to European football.

Even though the gut says Martinez is a given, I hold out hope.

Martinez has won at anfield, Arsenal and whl in the last 2 seasons.

White Hart Lane

Total:

And when you consider the strength of their squads....

He won the FA cup.

I know mate but that was beating Bournemouth(replay),Maccelsfield, Huddersfield,Everton,Millwall and City

Everton and City were not at the races in the games against them.( not thier problem i realise)
Im really not that impressed, I think getting relagated the same season took most if not all the shine off that cup victory.

Im not dead against appointing him but he wouldn't be in my first choices.

Lets face it.. anyone's away record against the Big clubs looks good against that of Moyes.

Wigan should not have been relegated with that squad.

If it was so easy, so why didn't Moyes the legend win it then
