I don't see anything more attractive for the Everton brand than Martinez right now. Players are coming here because of him, he was one of the faces of espn's WC coverage, took 5th in the PL last year, he's very likable, etc. Not a problem for me if the suits want to capitalize on that. Purely business decision as he hasn't been here very long, but smart business I think. Wouldn't be surprised to see that image shown on a lot of the broadcasts here in the States. Brand growth = increased ability to purchase quality transfers.

Brennan, if you were in BK's position would you want to relinquish ownership, i do not think so. I bet no member on here would sell out if they owned the club the way BK does.

If you stick a massive "UMBRO" underneath with its logo.

Then EFC can charge money (or may already have done so in a contract with UMBRO). Its called image rights mate.

The mural is on the side of the stadium, it's going to be seen mostly by people who already support Everton.

Things like this should be placed in the middle of Liverpool, like on the large advertising space opposite Lime Street. Having it on the side of Goodison doesn't really build brand recognition.

It's just a rubbish way of exploiting an asset...who's been an asset for all of a year. The feller might fall on his arse this season and there's a massive Belfast style mural up there of him reminding everyone who's to blame.
