UPDATE

Current Everton records (Premier League era only):
Maximum Points = 65
Most wins in one season = 19
minimum losses in one season = 7
Most goals scored in one season = 64
minimum goals conceded in one season = 33

This season:
Current points = 69 (new record)
Wins = 20 (new record)
Defeats = 6 (on track to break it)
Goals = 57 (7 goals short to match the record, 8 goals to break it)
Goals conceded = 34 (not breaking that record)
The problem with Premier League-era records is that we've been mainly rubbish or average, occasionally good and only very occasionally brilliant over the last 20 years. Records from that era - our least successful - do not do us any favours!

Having said all that, the fact that we're on course to break so many has to be a good thing!

Re; Footballfancast......... Chris Hedges asks " Would anyone honestly begrudge Martinez the opportunity to test himself on a bigger stage "..... Well, Chris , you 'kin cnut , I , for one ,honestly would you tosspot .Seeing as how the cultured beauty has only just begun his reign here with shedloads to follow ,yes I would!.... And his closing masterstroke " Seen that he has achieved all he can at Goodison" . All he can? are you a 12 yr old, they pay you to write this shyte , you disgrace of a journo! Sadly for you,Chris , Berto is on a mission here and is committed to building something special here ,that allright with you Chris ? Now, do pish off, pretty please.........

currently:

- on 69 with 9 points left to play for.
- on 20 wins with 3 games left. 23 is a cosmic number.
- lost 6.
- scored 57. 8 goals in last 3 games?
- conceded 34. This is one we'll have to miss out on this year (oh well, haha).

Epic thread, mate!

Agree with all that. Still a brilliantly positive sign that this is shaping up to be our best season since the late-80's (FA Cup win excluded).
