Yep, we ride Pickford hard as a fanbase, but honestly, bar 1 or 2 in the league, for me hes no worse than the rest.

Hes made some big errors that we got away with, but on the whole, the blame for goals conceded due to Pickford is quite small.

But hey, people have made their mind up about him, from the second that Origi goal went in he was done at this club.

For the record I'm not saying we cant improve on him, Olsen has come in and looks a much better option, but I do think people really dislike Pickford and it blinds them.
not true at all of course.

Have you been watching Pickford this season? It’s got absolutely nothing to do with the Origi goal. He is utterly abysmal.

Ancelotti is here to get results. Playing Pickford is going to cost us more points than it earns us. At present he is selecting Pickford because he’s England number 1, not on merit based on performances.

...I very much doubt Ancelotti is selecting Pickford for any other reason than he prefers him. I absolutely agree with you, that he costs us points. All I’m saying is that I’m not overly keen on Olsen either.

I do agree that some people will ride a player just because they've stuck a flag in the ground early doors and don't want to admit they got it wrong (See the DCL thread for instance)

But Pickford has been erratic enough for a couple of seasons now that I think he's mostly earned the criticism he's received, and I say that as someone who defended him quite a bit previously

I'd stick with Olsen currently just because I think Olsen has taken his chance and mostly done well, so I don't really see why he should be dropped, epsecially as Pickford hasn't done much to stake a claim himself

I'm starting to think neither is the long term solution if we want to kick on, but that's a whole different conversation that needs to be had come the end of the season
