Did anyone notice Olsens gloves?

They looked like woven goalkeeper gloves, anyone seen them before?

Guessing it's an upcoming colorway of this model https://www.adidas.co.uk/predator-20-pro-fingersave-goalkeeper-gloves/FS0401.html

I'm guessing it's the same tech/material they use in the laceless boots, which is the new boot craze.

I've been following Robin Olsen for a long time and not surprised that he has done quite well for you so far. Before Roma bought him after the World Cup, he made a bunch of great games prior to that with the Swedish national team against top nations as Italy, France and Netherlands. Remember that he was brought to Roma to replace Alisson and if you get an opportunity like that, then you can't be too bad. I think he did some great games in the first half of the season for them and when they lost it was usually not his fault, mainly due to a inferior central midfield compared to the previous season. They sold both Nainggolan and Strootman the same summer as Olsen arrived. The central defender Fazio didn't look solid either. They changed manager and Olsen became a bit of a scapegoat and was seen as fourth keeper after the season. He had one of the best goalkeeping coaches in Savorani, same guy that transformed first Szczesny and later Alisson. Many teams in the middle and bottom of Italian, French, German leagues were interested to sign him on loan but they didn't want to pay his full salary. In the last days of the transfer window Cagliari came to an agreement with Roma. Their first keeper and Italy's number 2 Cragno had got a severe injury and was out for half a year. Cagliari as a team overperformed that first half of the season 2019-2020 and Olsen was ranked as one of the best goalies in Serie A in several criterias. Olsen got a 4 match suspension before the winter break and that was the beginning of Cagliari's decline. He played some games before Cragno was fully recovered but the team never regained the form. Cragno was too valuable to not be included in the starting eleven when he was ready and then Olsen was benched for most of the remaining games. Cragno is younger and a great keeper in general but the team played better with Olsen that season in my opinion. I assume Ancelotti is fully aware of Olsen's capabilities as being Italian and also a former player for Roma.

My conclusion is that he could be a bargain considering his relatively low market value. He has improved his kicking slightly in Italy and worked a lot with Savorani on the low shoots. He's not Alisson or Oblak but how many in the world are as good as them.
Doing games. Here and there.

Robin Olsen says he is savouring life as an Everton player as he revealed his pride in playing a key part in an impressive team effort against Leeds United on Wednesday night.

Everton won 2-1 at Elland Road to record a fourth successive Premier League away victory and seventh in total on the road this season.

Goals from Gylfi Sigurdsson and Dominic Calvert-Lewin put the Blues in control before Raphinha halved the deficit for Leeds shortly after half-time.

The home team applied pressure in search of an equaliser but found the Everton defence in resilient and determined form. And when they were able to get shots on goal, Olsen repelled their efforts with a series of fine stops.

Everton boss Ancelotti saluted Olsen’s “super saves” and has regularly spoken of his desire to sign the goalkeeper – who is on a season-long loan from Serie A side Roma – on a permanent deal.

“I’m happy for that [Ancelotti’s comments],” Olsen told evertontv. “It means a lot.

“It keeps me motivated to just keep working hard and playing well.

“I am really enjoying being here. The players have all welcomed me and I felt I was part of the group pretty early on.

“Then it was up to me to train hard, work hard and take my chances when I get them. I will keep trying to do that.”

A spectacular triple-save just after the hour-mark represented the standout moment of Olsen’s fine performance at Elland Road.

His athleticism and sharp reflexes were tested when Mateusz Klich’s 20-yard strike was deflected towards goal by striker Patrick Bamford.

Olsen made a rapid adjustment to make the block before diving to his left to palm the ball away.

The dangerous Raphinha was waiting to pounce, however, and hammered a shot from close range but the Swede was again alert to make another fine stop with his legs.

“It was a difficult one,” said Olsen.

“I think Bamford touched it [Klich’s shot], so I had to go down to the right.

“Then I just saw the ball up in the air and tried to reach it to get it away.

“And then suddenly they had a player out to the left also – the ball was going to him but I just tried to close the near post and luckily I saved with my foot.”

The victory over Leeds keeps Everton firmly in touch with the Champions League qualifying positions.

The Blues are four points behind fourth-placed Liverpool and have two games in hand on their city rivals.

Olsen believes the nature of Everton’s hard-fought win at Leeds will add to the team’s belief ahead of Saturday’s clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford (8pm GMT).

“We knew Leeds would be a really difficult game,” he said.

“They run a lot and we knew that we needed to run a lot also.

“To stand behind the players and to see how hard they work, I am really proud of the boys.

“We needed a victory to bounce back after the last game. It was great to do it against a good team like Leeds. It was really important for us.

“We will start to look at United and see what we need to do against them.

“We have good confidence in the team.”

Don't know if you saw Ancelotti's interview. Basically said Olsen did ok for his role as a rotational keeper, and that he knows that's his place. The feeling I got was that Pickford will be back in goal asap.
Did he not say he knows his roll well? As in roll as a keeper?

Good kicking and blunders like Pickers or Good saves and average kicking what should his choice be?
I once took my niece to the match ,as it happens it was when we won 8-something against Wimbledon .I of course thought she would be a life long fan but she said she was bored !
When I thought about it I realised that out of 1 1/2 hours there were 8 seconds that it all happened .
The moral of this is that I don't partake in this hate for our own players and I don't think Pickford is any worse than lots of other goalies .There seems to be some sort of payback in feelings to offset any disappointment being felt that justifies all this hatred and for that I am out.

I understand, however I would not describe it as strong as hatred but rather disappointed or dislike.

Does your daughter have any interest these days?
