Our defenders need to realize Olsen is right footed. He got a couple of passes back to him on his left foot in the first half and ended up not getting much distance on his clearances whilst under pressure. Pickford is left footed so I suppose they are used to playing it that side but its just a little big bear of mine. By their nature goalies are not going to be as good with both feet as outfield players so play it to their stronger side if possible.

He made a mistake. He shouldn't have made it. The test now is will he let it get to him and keep making them or will he back himself and play like he did in the last couple of games?

It just goes to show. Both internationally capped goalies made significant howlers tonight. Pickford may be sleeping a little sounder than usual in his bed.

Leave him in, he still deserves a proper run to show if he can be a long-term option. If that's the only mistake he makes in a run of 10 or more then that's acceptable I think.

People blaming him for the second are being daft, it was simply a world class hit. Ronaldo or Messi score that then nobody has a go at the goalkeeper for not saving it.

If Pickford gets done for it, he's getting the blame. I'm not saying that's right, I'm saying that people would be saying it was Pickford's fault, and they would be.

The Fernandes goal - the fault really is with Davies, who overall played well, not closing down the space. Olsen is slightly out of position but you don't give a player of Fernandes' quality that time and that space to do what he did.

The third goal, he knows he messed up, but he just slips. Luckily didn't cost us entirely in the end.

Can’t see Pickford can save any of those 3 goals.

I mean Olsen saves the last one if he just doesn't lose his balance. Most GKs save that. In fact, any top level GK does. Olsen just slipped and that's why he didn't. Pickford would have saved it, unless he'd slipped like Olsen did.

I don't know the first thing about goalkeeping positioning, but I don't think there's much he can do about the Fernandes goal. It does seem to be way out of his reach at the point it's going over him.

Not much I can say for him for the 3rd other than perhaps the pitch played a part.
