If some of his flapping would had been Pickford then there would be howls of derision
If some of his great saves had been Pickford then that would have been on but not enough to cover his flapping
Which just shows once the GOT haters hate it’s a long way back ...

I dont think thats true at all. The fact is pickfords been at it for about two years now. People have just had enough. There is virtualy zero confidence in him.
If olsen plays till the end of the season and he's as error prone as pickford then he'll be no different.
I dont hate pickford. I just dont want to sit there watching the game with my fingers over my eyes dreading another error.

For me, he does slip, but that is purely because he's flat footed. If he's on his toes then he doesn't slip, that's down to footwork.

The funny thing is that if he was in goal for Leicester we win that game and I think if Pickford was in his position for that 3rd goal then he saves that.

The short answer is we need a goalkeeper still and personally I'd have Pickford over Olsen.

You’re correct, he would have. The context however is that we’ve seen countless errors or poor performances by Pickford during his Everton career.

Olsen will make mistakes too and in the long-term he may eventually be less reliable than Pickford, but in the here and now there’s one I’d trust more.

Poor performances made in isolation and against other solid performances and a history of calamities aren’t one and the same.

That's it really. He's been doing too many that you think the defence has lost confidence in him. Then his flaws as a keeper (reach, concentration) become more apparent.

Olsen made one mistake for the 3rd but he still has more attributes than Pickford does IMO (more dominant, longer reach) to add that both seem like good one on one shot stoppers.

Seeing those frantic delayed dives when a shot goes wide, struggling to catch a ball, not being able to command his area etc etc

Just re watched the goals a few times and have to say his positioning isn't the best he is a bit static. Hybrid of him and Pickford is what we need to get to the next level....or somebody totally new. lol

We are going to need a new keeper anyway now as Olsen's card is marked regardless and lets face it for some people it was marked before he even arrived here.

I think he is a good solid keeper and perfectly acceptable as our number one however there are some people who can't wait to pounce on any flaw like his "poor kicking".

When a small amount of fans get this mindset the player is doomed no matter what they do.

I was quite critical of Olsen in the heat of the moment yesterday. He does of course deserve another chance. He may well not be the long term answer, but Pickford is not either in my view.

We are a bit harsh on keepers as a fanbase though. I never quite understood the dislike of Robles. Always felt he was solid if not top drawer.

Makes a mockery of Pickdords critique, but who would be a keeper anyway.

Thought Olsen was at fault for second as well as third goal.

However, also made some good saves too.

Varied distribution is probably the biggest difference between the two, and Olsen having less variations.

Pickford will always get gripe, whatever he does, even if he did shift work at Morrison's behind the bread. He is just one of those men who inspire primeval alpha male responses in others.
He won’t be able to reach the bread on the top shelve
