Agree on the whole, but he's certainly done more than enough on his own in certain games... usually grows in confidence once he's been played through at least once, though

By next season Lookman and Davies will have established themselves along with Holgate. We still need another forward and centre half (s).

The bit where he powered past about 3-4 Stoke players before laying it out wide and rushing back into the box is what we should be seeing more of from Rom for me. Some proper centre-forward play.

Worst game I've seen him play. He didn't even play. Even when the ball fell loose near him he took an age to react. Didn't seem arsed at all. Made Indi look class and we all know he Isn't.

It's absolutely simple. Put someone close to him and he is a monster. He can't play the out and out lone striker role and if we see that as his primary role the we may as well get rid. Mirallas was flipping awful and left him in his own postcode. Get Lookman or valencia beside him the next two games.

Well, Kev I think was making things happen for us in the first-half yesterday mate, the issue is that he was dropping deep to do so, as Barkley just couldn't find the space to dictate things from deep.

Like - but;
you're right about strikers playing in two's - the old 'Smash and Grab' Mick Jones & Alan Clarke; Sharp & Gray; etc the list is endless

I can see Lookman in the sniffer role, then there's DCL and even Valencia too
But Lukaku in the 'Smashie' role? nah he's too 'nicey'

Despite his appearance he'd play miles better with a target forward next to him. He's getting better at holding the ball up but he's desperate to be the runner and pulling out wide. Getting a Benteke type in the summer would just elevate him IMO.
