Romelu Lukaku says Everton's style is now totally different under Ronald Koeman than it was under Roberto Martinez.

Dutchman Koeman arrived in the summer after Martinez was sacked towards the end of last season, and has the Toffees in seventh place in the Premier League.

Speaking with Soccer Saturday, Lukaku says Koeman's style in training and concepts took some getting used to, and that Everton are set up more defensive and organised now.

Romelu Lukaku says Everton's style is now totally different under Ronald Koeman than it was under Roberto Martinez.
Lukaku said: "When he came in he had these ideas, and concepts of players, so for us we had to adapt because we worked under Roberto Martinez and it was a totally different style of football.

"Here, it is a bit more defensive, more about organisation, how we are set up, it's totally different. But I think we adapted well, we are seventh in the league and everything is positive.

"I think we can be happy, but I think we can improve and he wants us to improve. Hopefully it's going to be a good end to the season.

"I think now we have to go for Europa League spot. Why not? You have to believe in your ability and power as a team, and get good results, not drop easy points."

The 23-year-old striker has 12 Premier League goals this season, having netted 18 last campaign under Martinez.

But Lukaku says he is always looking to improve, and added that the atmosphere is changing around the club as they approach the final third of the season.

He said: "It's been going well, 12 goals, 13 in all competitions, quite happy but there is still room for improvement, and I want to improve every day and deliver more and more. So the challenge is there and I want to take it.

"It's been good. The consistency is still there, bur like I said there is room for improvement.

"I think there is a little change, obviously, players going and coming. Obviously the atmosphere is a bit different because you are entering the second half of the season when all the teams are getting into the rhythm.

"It's a bit different, the atmosphere, but we are ready for it."

Lukaku has been linked with a move away from Goodison Park in the press over the last 12 months, but the Belgian insists he is only focusing current affairs on the pitch, and time will tell where he ends up.

"Time will tell. At the minute I'm just focusing on the season right now," he added. "I just want to help my team-mates achieve the Europa League spot, and then we'll see what's going to happen in the summer."

Everytime we get on a bit of a run, this selfish dick head has to open his mouth.

Hope Koeman bangs a boot in his face, give him the Sir Alex Ferguson treatment.

He hasn't said anything at all to be concerned about only a short time ago he proved what a fantastic young man he is with firstly his heartfelt actions with young Bradley he isn't captain he didn't have to carry him he looked like he genuinely cared. Then you can tell how much he has took it upon himself to look After lookman & he couldn't of looked any happier than when lookman scored against city.

He may leave in the summer he may not but one thing if for certain he has been a fanatastic servant to this club & represents it very very well please don't let press hype cloud that.

The European Football keeps the Romelu.

You would think Europa would be his tipping point, no Europa, no decision to make, if we get Europa and get some quality in, he might give us another 12months, maybe.

The boy opens his trap now and again, but hes an amazing goalscorer, despite his flaws, we are very lucky to have a player of his talent.
