Long flight maybe not good for leg muscle injuries? Am just guessing tbh

In fairness it's usually when on an International break. He's never before feigned injury so he can go and blurt nonsense to the press. That's just you taking a quantum leap mate.

And if he has got a slight calf strain, then a couple of 7 hour fights to Dubai would be the last thing he needs.
 

I doubt a less valuable player would have been allowed to use a minor calf strain as an excuse to duck out of a team building trip and go visit family.
I don't think it'll have any bearing on whether he leaves or not but Rom is likely being indulged here due to his importance and the leverage he has due to the impotus to get him to sign a new contract.
 
Imagine a Belgian going to Belgian though.

Imagine having family there. Imagine he has a reason to go see a person from said family. Or he wants to do that AND rest for the few days, seeing as he's played in just about every game this season.

Shock. Definitely off in the summer, him. Sell him now while we still can. The contract was a fake.
