To be honest, he's piled that much pressure on himself that if he stayed next season and he or we didn't do better than this season knives would be out (and personally I think both those scenarios will be hot favourite) and his stock wont be as high as it is this summer. His leaving this summer is the only outcome that makes sense to me.

He definitely won't be here - new deal or not - by the start of the 2018/2019 season.

I think that's pretty much the only certainty here, that fair to say?

Rumours about today that Chelsea want him if/when Costa goes. If that's true, I wouldn't begrudge him going back to Chelsea. He wanted to play there, they play a style that should suit a big frontman, he could be the new Drogba. They sold him, he didn't want to leave. However, if they do go for him, we need BIG MONEY (puts on Max Bygraves voice)

I think he would be a terrible fit with how Conte plays. Other than his build he is nothing like Drogba or Costa.

I agree, the caveat being that he'll only leave this summer if someone puts £70m+ on the table for him.

That'll almost certainly change this summer, I'm just not sure whether the cash offered will get close to our valuation.

And who said £70m is our demand? If it's this Summer I would think it would be much more.

He could be, though, Drogba wasn't like that until hes 25. Lukaku can develop more, especially with his hold-up play and workrate.

It's hard to attract better players last summer with 2 bottom half finish in a row. Now 7th is likely and get your EL and he is leaving, what a shame.

you're right there. The deby will be interesting, he's hasn't really made an impact in one since his first and a lackluster performance in one of the biggest games of our season - with all the coverage it gets, after all his talk of ambition etc will say more about him and his desire and how he handles that pressure than scoring 2 against Hull. He has 2 or 3 games coming up where he can really prove his quality and maybe justify his recent comments.

He's defo quality. And he has scored in games against all the 'big' clubs. But he's elevated himself with his comments and given a lot of people ammunition if his form drops off.

He'll demand the move in that case, and then it will happen. Everton can afford to turn down £70M nor can they have a disgruntled top striker on their hands.

Bolasie is saying there's no stopping his ambition. He doesn't actually say no stopping him moving because he has a contract and actually the club can stop him moving. All he's doing is justifying Rom's ambition comments and saying his mate is world class.

I think he will leave now after what Bolasie had said.

Since this club was unable to attract big names last summer after 2 bottom half finish I was hoping Lukaku will give the club next season to see if we can achieve top 4. This doesn't look likely now.

He will leave after next season IMO, hopefully after he steps his game up another level still for the remainder of this and next season. Then again I never thought he'd sign permanently and thought he'd have left each of the last two summer's so who knows ultimately
