He has improved since last summer, as he has done every season since he went on loan to WBA. The fact that no-one went for him in summer 2016 does not mean no-one will want him in summer 2017 or summer 2018, because each team's situation changes over those time periods and the player himself may well keep improving. For instance, if Utd don't qualify for Europe then Ibrahimovic will probably leave, so they would be MORE likely to be interested in Lukaku; if they DO qualify for Europe, Ibra will stay with them so they will be less likely to go for Rom.

The mere fact that teams are sniffing around him demonstrates:

a) teams are looking for strikers
b) Rom has improved this season (as he has done every previous season)

and these two things combined help to drive up his value.

seeing as united have already won the league cup, they will be in europe. I presume you meant CL. I think the consensus seems to be that united will go after lukaku even if ibrahimovic goes. Surely they won't buy lukaku and griezemen, but if they had a choice of one, i think griezemen is a level above lukaku myself and will probably actually cost less.

I'm almost certain that the only other English club he'd go to is Chelsea.

There's a few European ones, Atletico, Real, Bayern and Juve.

Dembele scores against the equivalent of league one teams. He'd be lucky to score 5 in this league and I seriously doubt Celtic would sell him for 20m. United wouldn't sell Rashford for that either.

Dembele tbd to him as scored in every under 21 game for France and looked impressive in the CL games this season. I'm very sceptical of players from the SPL but Van Dijk and Wanyama have shown some foreign players there are capable of impressing in the PL

Totally agree, problem is though mate, as it currently stands anyway, players good enough to take us to that next level will fall into two categories, ones like Lukaku who see us as part of a stepping stone process to get to that constant CL and title challenging/winning team, or ones have already been through that period and the move didn't work out for whatever reason - like Scheiderlin.

The key is to get enough of both atvtge club at the same point in time to turn the club into what the first group aspire too, spurs probably a good example of that as have been Athletico recently.

that's it mate, we need the likes of 3 Morgan type players and 2 type players with Lukaku potential and then in time players won't be seeing us as a stepping stone. It's not about qualifying for the CL, it's about challenging for the title and that's where I want us to be.

That's where i believe we will be in 2/3 years time and be back competing season in and season out.

However, he also knows that with an £80m release clause a couple of CL clubs would be in for him in summer 2018, and he can double his wages by agreeing to that clause.

To a non-prem club, like PSG, I would grit my teeth and accept it. Give Celtic £20m for Dembele and Utd £20m for Rashford, cross fingers.

To a prem club however? Nope.

You wouldn't get Rashford for less than £40m.
