We are no different from any other club. Unless you are Barcelona and perhaps Real Madrid, your best players can be poached away by so called "bigger clubs".

If he goes, it won't be to Man Utd, that's for sure. He is already above their level.

Maybe you mixing up the words of his father with the words hes said or reading Daily Star headlines, IDK.

Correct. Also, the last fifteen years or so signing contracts does not mean the player serves the full lenght of the contract. Sometimes the player wants to leave and sometimes the club wants the player to leave. The contract gives them both leverage but it is no longer as binding as it used to be. Which is good because it turned players into objects the club owned.

If he goes he goes, what can you really do about it? apart from get really good money for it.
I would love him to stay but realistically who can really blame him for wanting CL? He has been with us for 3 years, improved massively, he done deserves a crack at the CL, I just wish it could've been with us.
