I've basically said your last paragraph mate. But I think the French League will be a mistake/just a stepping stone for him. At 22 he won't get better there.
We won't sell to any English team will we? Very doubtful. That doesn't leave many options.

Moving into Zlatans shoes for any player will be a massive career gamble as well mate, it is very very hard to follow someone like that who has become not only a fan favourite but an icon for them, it rarely goes well for the next man to follow...

Say if we value him genuinely at 60m to the likes of PSG or abraod, then selling to a domestic 'rival' you'd have to figure would see us slap an extra 10-15m on at least just for that reason alone, don't see anyone paying it, a case of we value him higher than any buying club will do - and exactly the reason why stones wasn't sold last summer - we valued him higher than chelsea did.

United are the one posisble team that worries me - especially if they do manage to somehow get into the Cl this season, as they can and have paid ridiculously over the odds for players in the past 3 years - and Mourinho if he goes their honestly won't give a flying one about fiscal responsibility

Rom play for Mourinho?

As i said mate the Italian transfre record was set in 2001 and stil stands at 35m quid - and they havent ever approached those levels of spending sicne the country went into financial meltdown - even Napoli with a mega rich owner only paid 34m for Higuain - whose rep i would say was at least as high as Luakaku's is (probably a fair buit higher in relaity) - can't see one fo them suddenly ponying up 25m more than any Italian club has ever paid for a player before

You mentioned Bayern - similarly - the German transfre record stands at 31m pound - the Javi Martinez contract buy out from Bilbao, Bayern specialise on bending over other German teams and taking their top talent for 'German league prices', don't see why or how they would suddenly smash that model they have stuck with forever and pay close to 30m than the german transfer record for lukaku - similarly it becomes laughable that Dortmund have even been suggested - almost as comical as last years Wolfsburg rumours

IF he goes it would be to Madrid (impending transfre ban incoming), Barca (financially supposed to be in a huge mess), PSG (French league), United, Chelsea (both unlikely to be CL next season) or City - all those teams have huge negatives to why or if they could get a deal over the line for him - given what the player wants and the current state of their teams

All of this.

Can also see China coming in with a £100m+ bid. Not that it'd be successful.

It's not just about the money though when / not if he goes to PSG IMO.

Nailed on CL footy every season too and very close to home. I'd be amazed if that his not his final destination.

IF he is to be believed mate - and their is nothing to suggest otherwise from anything he has ever said, then he has ambitions to become the best in the world, that doesn't tally with moving to PSG and a one team league, then again he may look and think - move to PSG win a few titels easily, score a silly number of goals in a joke league and prove myself in the CL and get a Madrid or Barca to pay an astronomical sum for me from them. Only time will tell really whats in his head

I think he is actually pretty self aware and realises that the player he is now is far better than the young lad at Chelsea mate - so wouldn't discount it at all, he has always spoken well about Mourinho to be honest since leaving

Regardless of anybody's thoughts on the French league, PSG issued a statement not so long ago saying their target was to be the number one side in Europe and money was no object to them. They have massive ambitions and that will appeal to him along with the other things I have mentioned such as CL footy and being a stones throw from home.

I don't see us selling to any English team this Summer. If the muppet Mourinho pays 70m then I guess we take it.

Some interesting points made here. If we say the value is £60 million then that really does price out all but 5 teams. Could see him at PSG however its a crap league so would be going for the coin ultimately. Cant see him at Madrid but possible I suppose. Then there's Man U, City and Chelsea. All three could potentially not be playing champs league next season. City will probably get there but they don't need him. With 3 years left on contract we hold all the cards here, just like with Stones.

I agree, think alo there is several variables that makes all these paper stories even more laughable.

No one knows what Moshiri thinks on the matter, no one can predict for certain what will happen with our managerial situation by the end of the season, half the clubs being linked don't actually have managers and the other half being linked - well the link depends on them selling a player they have no intention or desire to sell first

I don't think he will leave this summer, if Martinez goes. Man U, City and Chelsea have not got their managers in place so can't see them rushing to spend £60 million right away. PSG seem to have the money to buy anyone they want, do they see Lukaku as the finished article at the moment. Could see them taking him to play back up for a few years, but would that suit him. Is he a Real Madrid type of player.
I can see him being talked into giving us another year, provided we get a manager in who will play to his strengths. He has time and we have the contract to hold him.

I think Napoli need to be considered. They have CL almost in the bag and have a large asset that they are looking to move on for around 40m (gonzalo higuain), apart for them i agree italy is a no go.

Napoli took a major hit this season financially by failing to qualify for the CL mate, they don't strike me as the way they have been run recently to suddenly go silly money on one player, the only reason they managed to afford Higuain and paid 34m for him was that they sold Cavanni for 55m that same season, overall they are a well run club that when it sells high reinvests in several players with the proceeds, just don't see them breaking that cycle and throwing stupid money at us
