Romelu Lukaku

Loan? He can't be bad if he's made their national team, we could do with fullback cover anyway. Plus he's young so will only get better.

He's certainly one to keep an eye on, but he's not EPL material at this point. His main strength is that he's very fast, maybe faster than Rom, mainly on the first meters. One of the center backs (Alderweireld or Vertonghen, can't remember) of the national team this week said he was the fastest player on the team (which is no small feat agains Romelu, Carrasco, Origi...). Also he's very offensive, big engine, but poor positioning which is his main weakness. So i doubt Everton would want to use him right away. Hence sending him on loan. He needs to play matches, not sit on the bench, in order to get better.

Also, he's the only left back we 've got, that's worth a damn, so making the national team as left and right back doesn't mean that much. I think he's about the same level as Meunier (on the other side) if you saw the Belgium-Ireland match. Meunier has better feet though (was 'reformed' only 3 years ago, used to be a striker), but the young Lukaku, much like his older brother, is more "a force of nature". Meunier saw a move to Wolfsburg cancelled due to injury 2 years ago.

Their national team as good as it is has a weird lack of players in the fullback area... Usually they have centre backs playing out there like Vertonghen and Alberwiereld

Everton Hold Super Agent Meeting, Law Over Romelu Lukaku Laid Down

Everton have moved to tell Romelu Lukaku's agent, Mino Raiola, that they do not intend to sell the striker this summer.

Lukaku has continually been linked with a switch away from Goodison Park this summer and showcased his skills on Saturday at Euro 2016 when he hit a brace in Belgium's 3-0 win over the Republic of Ireland.

A number of clubs have been mooted as potential destinations for the former Chelsea star, but Everton have no intention of playing ball, especially not after receiving investment from Farhad Moshiri.

A Russian Everton official - perhaps Moshiri's associate Alexander Ryazantsev, who is a director at the club - met with super agent Raiola in recent days to stress that the Toffees will not sell Lukaku, according to Sky Italia.

Everton are keen to keep hold of the Belgium striker to place him at the disposal of new manager Ronald Koeman.

Koeman is a firm fan of the 23-year-old and will be hoping to bring out the best in him next term at Goodison Park.

Despite Everton enduring an underwhelming campaign last season, Lukaku still managed to score 25 goals in all competitions, as well as providing his team-mates with seven assists.

His contract with the Merseyside club runs until 2019.

Arse. This means Stones is gone and I'd much rather keep young John. Oh well, better than losing both.

He was nothing but an unused U21 on Chelsea's huge payroll. Hardly a 'former star'.

Hope this talk about the metting and telling him staright he is staying is true, selling him would be on par with going to Kirkby as far as stupid mistakes goes.

Lukaku did his job and that is to score goals. That's what he does best and that's why he has a big price tag. Part of me still thinks he should improve the rest of his game because if he doesn't score in a game then there is nothing else he has done hence why he gets slated. McCarthy though.....useless. I can imagine Keane saying to O'Neill ' get that waste of space off now' just before he was subbed.
Spot on about Lukaku!! For me if he doesn't score he offers nothing.. He clearly wants to go let him go to the highest bidder. He will find out the grass isn't always greener, he really isn't world class like thinks he is he has the potential to be. I don't give two hoots how many goals hes scored get rid ASAP for the good of the club and anyone else for that matter. If there not prepared to give there all for the club then SEE ye!!

I hope he stays because
1. People will get really angry about it on here
2. Because he's a good player
3. It's quite hard to find a regular 15-20 goal a season striker that will come to a club not offering European football.
In that order is it?

Raiola will be happy as long as he gets a fee either out of lukaku moving or ultimately signing a new contract with Everton. He gets paid either way. That's all he cares about. Bear in mind with the money Everton now have, we are suddenly more interesting to Raiola who will want to move players to us so will want to tread more carefully with us than in the past I suspect

This, most likely scenario. I'm not worry Lukaku will leave.
