There'll be a time when Rom doesn't play for us, the same way we existed before he played for us. League placings with Rom in the team (5,11,11, 7 prob) it's hardly like we've set the world on fire with him. Top clubs replace top players all the time. If he went we'd have a huge warchest and hopefully Steve Walsh has the next name in striking talent ready for us to pounce on.
 
Good on him.

Good to see a player putting ambition before money for a change and wanting to be the best he can be. Try and keep him next season and show him he can play in the CL with us, if we fail, flog him for big money. Disappointing that we can't get him to commit but this doesn't really change too much and might act as a wake up call to the club that jam tomorrow means nothing - we need to start actually doing the business if we want to be a force.

Seriously, no respect for the club or the fans; take away his number and his locker. Loan him to Ipswich.

Or we could use him to get us as high in the table as possible, then use the 80 or so million we get for him to bring in a striker that's not quite so talkative. And a CB. And a right back. And a goalkeeper.
 
We're essentially guaranteed 7th now, so let's drop him for the remainder of the season
 

Maybe one final attempt to force the boards hand in negotiations?

He's not a Guardiola player, Mourinho didnt rate him at Chelsea and he's not on the level of Costa when it comes to holding up the ball, bringing others into play etc so unless Costa is 100% off then he will be on the bench. If he is off to Chelsea, we need to demand Batshuayi in exchange, even if just on loan with a view to buy.

Hopefully its a foreign team

take out his goals though and what would those finishing positions be, dread to think where we would have been under Martinez without Rom.
 

I wonder (assuming it's the release clause that's the issue) whether this will force the clubs hand into renegotiating a lower clause
 
Let's get this right, and without any fear of being accused of going OTT - we are completely 'kin knackered without Lukaku's input.

Sort that the 'kin ell out Moshiri or what friggin use are you?
