Romelu Lukaku

Lukaku wanted out and he made that clear. The only job was to get the maximum value for him.
I don't remember us turning down multi million £ offers for Barkley before he ran his contract down.
Different scenarios, but the blame lies entirely with the 2 players involved.

It was an offer which was well short imo. Les than half what the completely unproven, and dare I say grossly overrated Mbappe went for. Lukaku's value to use was a heck of a lot more to us than 75m and it's a seller's market. I don't think we should have sold clearly but even the deal we got was poor.

He was sold before the Neymar transfer which changed the market so your claim that the deal was poor is unfair. Only time will tell whether it was a good deal or not.

We needed to sell but we sold too early in the window.

Far far far too early. I don't care if Lukaku refused to show up. We still sold too early.

Also scored against those minnows Real Madrid.

United simply don't create enough chances in the big games. If he was missing chance after chance I would be worried.

Because he doesn't work in general play to help create them.

He's had one good game, at last, against a good side. Let's not get carried away - he's been lacklustre for a reason.

The onus is on Lukaku to do now what he's never been able to do - put in performances like that consistently.

It was poor even without the Neymar signing. Neymar had no effect on the market.

The increase in TV money was the reason prices were inflated. The board simply didn't adapt to that and I think it's because they were wowed by the amount and [Poor language removed] their pants.

Morata isn't half the player Lukaku is. He's got a better first touch and that's about it.

That's nonsense. He was one of the best passers in our team and also is for Utd.

He's just got a slightly unpredictable first touch but it's not always awful. The first touch before his driving dribble at the end today was exquisite, it took the defender right out of the game and into his path to run on to.

He's just massive and can look a bit clumsy.

Even without Lukaku, United havent been creating chances.

I blame the lack of width and movement from the midfield and wide areas as the biggest fault.

Lukaku has been one of the few who actually does some running.

Look, there is plenty to have a go at Lukaku for...but energy upfront hasn't been one.

That couldn't be more wrong.
