I've been waiting for this day, when Lukaku performs the way his appeasers imagine he does 37 times in the season. Got to ride this one out

He’s hardly played like the top striker he believes he is has he? Maybe if he contributed to other aspects of play instead of pointing to where he wants the ball, united fans might consider him something other than an expensive waste of money

Why would it have made a difference. For a start Barca didn't even spend the money they received until January so you could argue it took money out of the market.

The reason prices kept going up was because clubs had more to spend and when other clubs refused to sell the price kept going up because the buyer wasn't walking away. They could refuse because they had the TV money and didn't need to sell.

It was a gradual thing.

If anything Neymar was the exception because he was actually bought cheaply due to the fact he had a buyout clause.

Laughable. He has 17 goals and 6 assists and there's still 3 months left in the season.

I wouldn't mind wasting money like that.

Half the PL goals Kane and Salah have, less than Vardy even. Has only scored on two separate occasions against teams in the top 10. If I were a United fan, I wouldn't be particularly happy with that return. He's an above average player, nowhere near good enough for a team looking for titles, I think that assessment bears out

Kane and Salah play for teams that create far more goals.

Plus just because he isn't winning player of the season every year doesn't mean he was a bad signing. He's one of the top CFs in the league and was the best who was available at the time.

City would never sell Aguero and Kane will go to Real if Spurs sell him.

Basically it was either Rom or Morata and I know who I would have.

He will probably get over 20 goals in the league. If Utd don't win the league it's not his fault. You can't ask anything more of a CF.

Plus it's his first year. Next year he will have more confidence and be better used to the pressure etc.

Your friends sound clueless to me pal.

Lukaku is a different player from the one we signed in July. He's improved every month and since that City game on the tailend of Novemeber he has been superb. Notice output from Lingard/Martial this season he has also improved those around him something Zlatan didnt do last season.
