Romelu Lukaku

He has to assert himself more physically like he has done today. If he ever is marked out, he needs bully them in the air like he did just now. He is ginormagantuan and nobody should be out muscling him.

They still would have left.

These players don't want champions league football. They want champions league wages and the chance to play for a "big" club. (which equates to roughly the same thing.)

All clubs lose players, even the bigger clubs. The key is to adapt properly to the players you lose, not to sulk about losing these players and thinking about what could have been.
I don't know about Barkley but all Lukaku wants is to be in the history books. And not for making a lot of money but for winning trophies. Whether that will happen only time will tell, but you can't say he's just going for the CL wage.

We could've achieved cl football with an actual transfer strategy to improve a team which held stones barkley and lukaku.

Now we are a million miles away from even knocking on the door
Exactly. We had one summer. We could have held on to Stones and spent money to replace Jag, Howard, Baines, Barry, McCarthy and bought a play maker for the left.

6 signings. Had we spent about 180m to 200m and signed a decent manager we could have made an attempt. Both Stones and Rom had 3 years left.

Instead we got Koeman and some head scout who was famous for finding cheap gems along with a load of rubbish being spouted by certain "fans" like we needed to sell Stones for FFP reasons, we were going after top class players and willing to spend huge amounts yet nothing was spent until Stones was sold.

Do I think it was inevitable we needed to sell those players. Not if we had money but since its obvious we didn't (at least not to that level) then yes of course we had to sell.

If your auntie had a Wang she'd be yer uncle ....

wish he'd done that for us, always seemed to get bullied by him in a blue shirt
Played him like a fiddle today.. mourinho got his tactics spot on once again. Lukaku targeted lovren and lovren was too thick to see what was happening. Rom was dropping in to win the ball and lovren followed him like a puppy leaving a gaping hole between right back and vvd. ... in contrast firminho also dropped deep to pick the ball up but United kept their shape and let him have it... forcing Liverpool to try and find spaces as they were facing a very well organised and disciplined United back line. Don't get me wrong.. occasionally they did come under pressure but they nullified the pace of salah and the passing of firminho. It was a really good display in my opinion.

Definite uptick in form lately, fair play to him. Helped today that Mourinho lives for beating the RS, I think he enjoys it as much or more than winning a trophy.
