Romelu Lukaku

Finishing being the key attribute of a striker.

You've finally got there Pedro. Well conceded.

If we want a finisher who is a dog awful footballer we can try and sign Hernandez from west ham for much less money than that fat lump.

Sadly you can't see past the fact that the two top sides in the league demand footballing competency from their number 9's above all else.

If lukaku could actually control a ball, pass it, hold it up, win headers and run more than 700m in a game he may actually be a very good player..... then again so could anyone...

Another striker with a better ratio than DCL

How much would he even cost now?

Man United would not want to sell him to us for a loss, not after we did em over last time with the fee in the first place
How would we have known he wouldn't perform well for them? He completely justified the fee given he had multiple 20+ goal seasons. Highly doubt this has affected our relationship with them.

Utd and Mourinho knew what they were buying - the sharp point to the attack. The previous season they'd fallen short due to someone able to do the crucial task of settling games against cannon fodder with a deadly finish. But a free flowing baller he ain't. Room for both in a squad though, sadly Rom doesn't take playing second fiddle, even when strategy necessitates, well.

Utd are a club riven with problems and it a seems number of players with a bad attitude when it suits them. Its hard to say how he'd perform in a genuinely quality Utd team. Personally I think he'd end up in the 'Skolsjaer' role - off the bench to pinch goals. As above, would he stomach it?

He's an enigma is old Rom. I'm not sure I'd have him back at Everton. I dont think he'd want to either as he views himself quite highly, rightly or wrongly.

What wage is he on? Google says £200k a week! On that he will not be coming back for a long old time unless United subsidise it.

Doesn't even get to a question over his ability or attitude or whatever, that wage prices us out of that straight away.
