Romelu Lukaku

Its only Lukaku who gets slated for scoring against crap teams or scoring goals to make it 3-0 etc but the likes of Kane can be top scorer at a world cup scoring against similar teams to Rom and thats fine

The difference is slotting against crap teams is quite literally all Lukaku is good at. Kane is a vastly superior striker in every other element of the game, so much so that it's unfair to even compare Lukaku to him.

Kane isn't that good at all especially recently, just hes English and hasn't played for us so he gets praised. His performance in champions league final was shocking.. also this thing of Lukaku scores pointless goals is laughable

I mean I don't disagree with any of it, Just find it silly he gets beaten with the "only scores against crap teams" like it's a bad thing to have

It is when that's all he does. If he was a good footballer and was helpful in general play, he wouldn't get that criticism as people would realise there's more to his game.

Instead, he's basically AWOL against half-decent opposition 90% of the time. A goal against Hull when the game is already dead when United are 2-0 up doesn't quite make up for United playing with 10 men against City, Chelsea, Liverpool etc.

We would of finished no higher then 8th with Lukaku last season.

We might have nicked 7th or finished as low as 10th/11th - would have depended on his interaction with Sigurdsson and Richarlison.

I think overall we'd have benefited from him being here marginally because of the improved technique we have in attacking areas overall allowing for us to compensate for just how bad technically Lukaku is. A difference of around 3 to 5 points either way - woohoo.

He’s a tit but you can’t deny he’s a good striker. It is ok to admit both. His goal return is ridiculous. I think he needs to be motivated though and at the end with us and United he hasn’t been. Conte and Inter would probably be a good fit for all.

That's just it - he doesn't.

Take the World Cup as an example. He nets four against Panama and Tunisia, then doesn't for the rest of the entire tournament when he's up against the likes of England, Japan, Brazil and France - obviously far superior teams.

He's the definition of a flat track bully. Goals against crap teams doesn't tell you anything, so that's why I'm simply laughing at that JimmyK fella for honestly thinking it's a reflection of anything. Indeed, he'd have been much better served pointing out his truly excellent performance against Brazil in the World Cup - one performance alone that eclipses scoring ten past a bunch of glorified pub footballers.

But he scored 2 goals against mighty Scotland so how do you explain that...?

How can you say that, not knowing who he might have scored against.A goal against the the RS at Goodison and one at Wolves would have made a difference if he'd only scored two.

Because he'd have cost us points elsewhere by being Anonymu Lukaku 90% of the time.
