Romelu Lukaku

What is ridiculous is that you have conveniently forgotten that the point of the argument is that some people rave about lukakus goal stats....

The counter argument is that he's a flat track bully who tends to score when games are 1 or 2 nil up..... which has been proven.
And I've said I don't see how scoring when 1 or 2 up takes anything away from him. It makes a game safe and us more likely to get the points. Maybe we could've done with him scoring a third in our games against Newcastle and Bournemouth last season. Then we might not have blown 2 goal leads in those games.

In lukakus last season here take away his goals and we theoretically finished in the same spot. Point and case.
Same with Calvert Lewin last season, only his goals theoretically earned us 1 point rather than the 9 points gained from Lukaku's goals.

Maybe we should just bin strikers off completely, as it seems quite clear to me from this absolutely flawless logic of yours that they make no difference at all to our results.

If you take them at face value, but you know very well that it's when in a game goals are scored that puts them in context.

Its funny because the same people who slate him for that was absolutely made up when Jesus scored Citys third near the end against Palace this season.. pointless goals them though

People on here will keep defending him until his stats drop on FIFA

Everytime he scores we will continue to get the barrage of fantasists who truly believe Rom is the missing piece of the jigsaw. This one was triggered by the fact that he managed a brace against Scotland while his team only had 71% of possession, 25 shots and he was playing alongside arguably two of the best link players of his generation. Yes, I don't know how he scored under those conditions either...must just be down to his sheer natural ability.

Funnily enough this thread continues to be barren from the same posters week after week when Utd or Belgium play anyone of particular note. I haven't quite worked out why this is yet but am sure one day I will get to the bottom of it.

Oh dear indeed..... no wonder we are called bitters eh..... got fans with 14 year fifa fanboy mentalities who take the p1ss out of a young lad who is improving and has improved his game to the level where outside of goal scoring his centre forward play is up there with other target men in the league.

Had a dream (slightly wet) last night that Big Rom resigned for us and scored the winner in a tight 1-2 win against Palace first game of the season.

Lad ran towards the away fans and fistpumped as if to say "this is what you've been missing boys"

Bring him home immediately ffs!
