Amazing the amount who ignore the fact defenders we're so worried about Lukaku it made space for others.

We often big up our Number 9 shirt. And we've had some true legends in that position: Tommy Lawton, Bob Latchford, Gary Lineker, Graeme Sharp, Dave Hickson, Roy Vernon etc. Not forgetting the greatest English forward of all-time: William Ralph "Dixie" Dean.
But younger fans must be a bit disappointed. Only used to John Spencer, James Beattie, Cenk Tosun, Brett Angel, Marcus Bent, Niasse etc.
Lukaku may be a bit of a nob, but he couldn't half slot them.

Our chance came and went. He's far, far better than us. Just like he was when he was here. His goals papered over the cracks of the Martinez and Koeman years but so many of our fans couldn't see it. I'm sure it's sinking in now though.
