Out of interest, If Lukaku bags 8 in a 9-0 victory, would that count as 0 points won?
I do hate the idea of "points won". What that implies is that the only time players can "win points" is if the team wins by 1 goal, and that they score the final goal in that win. I'd be interested to see how many of these said goals there are in a season. Im sure it's just a fraction of the goals scored in a season.
I would think that the "winning" goal would be the "points won" part? So if he scored 8 but not the first, technically whoever scored the first would have been the winning point? I dunno, it's hard to qualify that.

Because “Lukaku’s goals don’t count” is the most hilarious footy argument of all time
He can only come back if he's prepared to be a player/manager. He's not a good enough to make it on his own as a footy player - and we need a big gobby manager

The lad he plays alongside at Inter looks ridiculously good.
They'd better win the league this year, because he's Barcelona/Real Madrid-level and won't be hanging around there much longer.
Said it before, a second or third goal often kills a game.
Plus, before he turned into Bloaty Lukaku for Utd, his presence could unsettle teams. Fear of him racing in behind for a start.

The funniest thing about this thread is that people from both arguments are saying I’m biased to the other side when in fact I genuinely don’t care I just find the Lukaku’s goals don’t count argument genuinely hilarious
