Romelu Lukaku

If they hit the buffers it'll be because Mata, Mkhitaryan, Rashford et al are nowhere near as good combined as KDB, Hazard, Silva, Fabregas etc, in the same way we finished outside the top 6 last season because Barkley, Mirallas, Deulofeu, Bolasie and Lennon weren't good enough.

United finished 5th last year with much the same squad. They will be much better this season because they've signed a superb striker who can do it every week.

I agree with that - you're set up to benefit from Lukaku and you are doing so.

But I will repeat that I think there's a glass ceiling on that approach, and that you'll struggle to compete when you come up against the better sides and when you head into pressure games.

You'll disagree with me now, and that's fine, but the proof will be in the pudding come the end of the season. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but if it were me I'd be including Ibrahimovic heavily when he's back and using 'horses for courses'. If you do that, you'll be in with a shot for honours. If you stick with Lukaku because he's scoring and don't adapt for certain games, then it's my honest belief that you'll hit the buffers before too long.

Think you need to give up talking about Lukaku.

Its like the BBC trying to defend Jimmy Saville

I genuinely wanted to boot the lad. Needed to rip that plaster off and get lads in who weren't constantly a window away from leaving. I thought we'd buy a striker to replace him of course, but Lol at me
I just don't understand why anyone would want to get rid of one of the most consistent goal scorers in Europe - especially when you see the state it's left us in now.

You finished below Arsenal? He really has improved you enormously.
Arsenal finished strongly beating the champions in the cup final too.

It's not just Lukaku. Matic has done well freeing up the rest of the team. The other players have stepped up too.

But City are still the team to beat. Spurs are also grossly underrated too.
