Romelu Lukaku

The irony in your statement being that Zlatan scored plenty last season, but his perfomances weren't particularly great.

Lukaku's pace and power has actually had a better effect on those around him with RashfRashford and Martial having benefited massively from that and performing much better too boot.
Exactly.

I don’t want to come to this thread to see people rimming Romelu Lukaku, I want to see bile and twisted hate. Also we got £75m and he’s sold now so it’s utterly irrelevant that “we could have got more for him”.

Please cease and desist.

Sort of right - by having Lukaku on the shoulder, it's allowed Rashford and Martial to drop deeper and be more involved.

You have better players than us, so Lukaku has the potential to be a weapon for you as a certain option, particularly against poorer sides.

Ibrahimovic technically holds the ball up player and gets other players running from deep. That's the difference between the two. My view is simply the latter is much more effective on a consistent basis.

Ibra was awful last season.

If they hit the buffers it'll be because Mata, Mkhitaryan, Rashford et al are nowhere near as good combined as KDB, Hazard, Silva, Fabregas etc, in the same way we finished outside the top 6 last season because Barkley, Mirallas, Deulofeu, Bolasie and Lennon weren't good enough.

United finished 5th last year with much the same squad. They will be much better this season because they've signed a superb striker who can do it every week.

I think our position last year was misleading, easy to say but I really believe so. We had so many freak games at home where we had like 15 shots on target and either lost or drew. Was a freak season in that regard, we didn't need to reinforce the attacking area's as Mourinho clearly believed we couldn't have such an unlucky season infront of goal again and he's been proven right.

Actually his first touch and hold up play has been pretty good at Manchester. People are just so focussed on it that when he messes it up it gets immediately highlighted.
Anyway. Last year ManU's midfield couldn't score. Now they're scoring like crazy. With Lukaku as a focal poitn and not Ibra.

But yeah, let's be happy we got rid of him and keep on hoping for a better striker who lets the team play better and the midfield score more???

Agreed, it's been excellent infact apart from final 10 minutes in games where he clearly fatigues.

It's alright though, we replaced big Rom with 14 number 10s and Sandro "I wouldn't look out of place at Barnsley" Ramirez.

Your position is in no way misleading after you've played every team twice, home and away. Taking your chances is part of the game.

The main difference this season is you've signed a striker who puts those shots on target away, is fit for every game and can play 2 90 mins a week quite comfortably.

Lukaku has been excellent so far for us 11 goals already , it seems people always want to find the negative but he has done very well , hopefully he can help us Anfield in fortnight another 1 or maybe a couple would be just fine :)
