They're unbeaten, five points clear in second and pissing their CL group. What's more, their fans are coming on here and crediting Lukaku with being one of the, if not the main source of their improvement on last season.
You had long argued that Ibrahimovic is far superior to Lukaku because of his hold-up play among other things and that you'd be happy if Lukaku left Everton. It must have come as quite a surprise to you that Lukaku has replaced Ibrahimovic and immediately improved United considerably and that Everton, despite spending a nine-figure sum are now seeimngly incapable of scoring goals despite having a great number of forwards with good first touches and all-round play.

And yet, I could easily and accurately predict he wouldn't show up today when they finally played opposition of a certain calibre.
United haven't improved because of Lukaku. They've improved because Pogba has settled, Fellaini has been a star and the level of opposition has been average to poor. Arguably, they haven't improved at all - they did the same last season; ran over the first three games of the season and immediately got unstuck when they played a decent side. Lukaku is a flat track bully in terms of his goals - not one bit of his 'form' in front of goal has surprised me whatsoever for United thus far; yet simultaneously, his no-show today and his general average performances beyond goals thus far this season haven't surprised me either.
The evidence so far is clear - it wasn't Everton holding back Lukaku, because he's the same player now with the same strengths and weaknesses as he was here.
As for your last part, that's just pure nonsense - we didn't replace Lukaku, that's the issue. I'm not arguing that Lukaku would not improve us now - he would - because he's world class at grabbing goals. My view is simply that there's a better option going forward that we have yet to take because of yet another Moshiri masterclass of an aborted summer transfer window.
Can you spot a significant difference between him and Kane mate? I'm struggling but I guess there must be one to attract such vitriol to romGoals don't win you games so it's a valid point.
Glad we've replaced his goals with a much more balanced attacking effort so far, with goals spread all over the place.
Just some utterly woeful excuses to justify hatred of a player for one reason or another.

And?
Tubes just admit you were dead wrong on Lukaku and all this goes away.Well done all. Take the low road.
Enjoy it.
Even with him injured they have been destroying teams.
Was it Pogba who made the difference against us?
So basically you're saying he's useless when isolated and outnumbered by defenders? Particularly against the better clubs? No, he's not the only reason - it's part of it. They were examples, not conclusive reasons. The side have settled as a whole in their style of play.
To Mourinho's credit, he clearly identified that he didn't have the side to play the same way today and took the point. They have played to Lukaku's strengths magnificently - my point is solely that there's a ceiling on playing that way, and you saw it today. You can't play that way and have success against even decent teams, because you need to hold the ball in the final third to prevent a quick, quality opposition from picking you apart if you commit too many forward and lose the ball.
